English school children adopt members of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment

Students at Beatrix Potter school in South London read out the names of Newfoundland soldiers and their home towns: "Ochre Pit Cove, Leading Tickles, St. John's, etc." CBC's Ted Blades brings us the story of their annual act of remembrance.

The Brits never forget our sacrifice that day, and it means a lot to us Newfoundlanders. For King and country!

I am the young 12 year old nephew of my great great uncle, John T. Lewis, who fought and died with the Royal Newfoundland Regiment from 1916 to 1918, where he was wounded in the upper right part of his face where he lost an eye and later died due to further shrapnel wounds in the stomach outside of Amiens, April 12th, 1918. I have nothing that belonged to him except his photograph..
