English Pattern Adapted for North American Lakes | The Western Woofta

Ойын-сауық

This past season this variation of the English, Woofta Pupa, was one of my better-performing chironomid patterns.
The Woofta Pupa is a popular English buzzer or chironomid pupa featuring a fuchsia thorax. This version features a fuchsia thorax blended with the thread wing pads, standard bead head, and gills common to most North American chironomid pupa patterns.

I wonder where the fuchsia color came from? Just a hot spot I suppose? Good looking tie!

Yes just a hot spot of sorts. You could certainly use this concept with other colors too such as red and orange. Cheers, Phil

Great looking fly👍🏻 Was wondering if you know the name is UK rhyming slang for a gay man, presumably due to the pink highlights?🤔

Hi Gary, I am glad you enjoyed my video. Upon doing research on this fly's origins I was aware of the UK slang. Wished they perhaps used something different. Cheers, Phil

@@PhilRowleyFlyFishing there’s a few patterns in the UK with dubious names, but Kelly Galloup still wins hands down😀
