Médine is I think one the deepest french rapper. One of his "series" of songs is "enfants du destin", he tells the life of some children in war or genocide times, and it's just breathtaking (sorry for my bad level in english)

7:36 "If you cut Daddy's throat, turn him to the Qibla" Actually, it references the fact that, to make what we call "halal" meat, which is the only type of meat muslims can eat, they have to cut the throat of the animal in one go (so that he won't suffer), and while doing that, he has to have his head turned to the Qibla. So basically, Médine says that "you're killing your own father but you're saying you respect religion because you're turning him to the Qibla" basically following the scheme of the whole first verse, which is to say that people use religion without really understanding what it means

Glad to see you react to Medine, he is saddly the most controverted rapper in France because he's muslim and make music with real thruth in it that no one talk about so smoothly as him!!! In France when you are from North Africa or Anyway in Africa we're only destine and allowed to do dumb music : the purpose being to keep the African Youth dumb and destin to precarity. Meanwhile we should be grateful to being played by the rich and politics, leaving us in our ghetto with no social skills, no professionnel skills, no equipement, no activites to stimulate the mind of the youth!!! That's why I love Medine so much cause he should be an exemple for us, we are smart and we should encourage our youth to read instead of spending time on insta tiktok and all those dumb distraction, our mind are polluted on purpose and they blame the religion for it when in reality they instigating us to keep consume social network and tv reality show.. Medine speak this truth everytime and everytime it makes me so mad...!!! You're not stupid, you just keep yourself away from politics and religion, maybe it was a way to protecting yourself, maybe you're not expose like us daily to those struggles but i can tell that you can fell our struggle and that's being human maybe you'll be curious about this shit later!!

Intimate Confessions was about inhouse issues like couple issues or weird passions killing the couple like "My husband likes his car more than he likes me", "I'm in love with my turtles", "I'm 27 years old and a virgin" blablabla. You know, basic sht in a way, but it was made to "mock" these people in a way. They were followed by a camera operator through their daily house life etc and were also given a camera on a pod. At moments they were going in front of this camera to talk freely about their feelings. "I dont know what to do anymore, I dont think he/she cant change, I'm afraid I should move on and leave this house and couple, he/she doesnt love me anymore, I feel alone there's nothing for me here" etc. At the end of each episode a fake psychologist would come to discuss with the couple or individual and give a stupid role playing exercise like "you'll be her she'll be you" to change things and by miracle usually it worked after 15 minutes of effort. It was basic, harmless confessions but yeah, it was the prime era of reality tv in France between 2001 (Loft Story) and 2012 I'd say, tv shows in people's houses and daily lives, and mocking these people was the rule. Then it became staged sht like "dumb people in hawai", "brainless fools in Greece", young good looking stupid actors living a fake drama in a fake house etc etc...

You aslo need to know than Medine, has been threaten death by far-right partisan because he was too much "muslin" for them and aslo on the list of people to kill in europe by ISIS (Daesh) because he criticize the radical muslim movement. He notably cancel one of this live show in the "Bataclan" (one of music concert has been attacked by terrorist in 2015) because of far-right partisan/politician protest.

You should react to one "enfants du destins" songs of Médine they just get you in your guts

maaaan man man ! MEDINE is one of the best french rapper since 20 years now. he always use the form to serve the content. because of course both are important. nevertheless, he made a loooot of good song, and this album "PROSE ELITE" from where Porteur Saint is taken, is maybe one of the best. Le Havre is a harbour city in Normandy close to Great Britain actually. ;-)
