Ellis, I think you might really enjoy hockey. Low scoring, so every goal is game changing, big hits, fast play, passionate crowds. Give that a try. And then, if you want to experience a game in the lowest level of professional hockey in the States, let me know and I’ll show you my hometown team 😂

I'm an American and also hate the fact that they play music during NBA games. Feels like a carnival and not a sports game, you were pretty spot on saying that it doesn't matter until there is about 5 minutes left. American stadiums/arenas are relatively small because the teams have figured out if you have a lower capacity you can charge twice as much for tickets and make more money. Same reason Juventus only built their stadium for 40K. Also, the atmosphere in LA is famously low-key. In other parts of the country there's even more distractions and the announcers sound more like radio DJs.

1 of the points I love to make about sports in general is how much fans of a sport think their top alltime players are known worldwide but it just isn't true. It is why guys like MJ, LBJ and Messi really stand out regardless if you like them or not. It is similar to Ronnie O'Sullivan in the UK. I was watching an interview of his a few weeks ago. As an American I had no clue who he was (this guy is amazing anyone over here should check his story out!) but you could tell pretty much everyone in the UK knew the man. Similar to Wilt Chamberlain here...he is known by pretty much everyone here and we would all assume worldwide but Ellis helps put that in to perspective. Great work as always bud!

LA Lakers games are majority “plastic” fans. You want something that feels more like authentic fandom. Golden State/San Francisco is also bad. Go to Sacramento. Not a popular destination by any means but the atmosphere is fantastic. Top fans in the league and they Light a Beam into the sky that can be seen from outer space when they win (Look it up). You like cowbells as noise makers? They got that. Sacramento once broke the decibel world record. And if you time it right, you can check out Sacramento Republic FC in the same week. Sacramento Republica play in a small stadium that’s located on State Fair grounds. So in the summer when the fair is going on, you will have carnival rides as your backdrop during the match. Your match ticket gets you state fair access so you can make an entire day out of it. Bang for your buck.

Additionally, colleges have a lot more history than NBA teams, and there is real hate between rival fan bases. Additionally, college basketball student sections go wild especially at bigger schools or for bigger games; they will be chanting and making noise all game long like you’d expect in England. Your thoughts sum up exactly what it is. The lakers where the first organisation to turn their games more into events and shows rather than just focusing on the game itself so it’s quite poetic your first basketball experience was them

You gotta go to an NHL game next season. MLB games are cool but it’s like a fun day out most times rather than being into the game. NHL is the best sport to watch in person especially if you get a rivalry game. Seeing opposing fans sitting next to each other and cheering in the away arena would probably be confusing but interesting for you lol.Edit: Gotta love Momento for showing me that NHL game you went to.

Well, you mentioned the stadiums in the US look quite small, but in reality, a lot of College Football stadiums, where the college athletes from 18-22 years old play, have better atmosphere than in the professional NFL league, but a lot of those stadiums are way bigger than the average Premier League stadiums. I don't know from which college the stadium is, but I know there is a college stadium with a capacity of around 110.000 people.

Ellis if you want a college football game with great history and tradition behind it Texas vs Texas A&M Nov. 30th is the game to go to. It’ll be expensive but it’s the first time in 13 years they will meet on the football field, plus the game goes back to the early 1900’s when the teams have been playing the competition.

Love your channel! If you want to get the real American sports experience, you need to get outside of LA. That town is posh and transient. Go to an NFL game in Baltimore, Kansas City, Denver, or Philadelphia, go to a college football game in the Big 10 or SEC, go to hockey game in Canada, go to a baseball game in Boston or St. Louis or Atlanta, go to an ACC or Big 10 college basketball game, or an NBA game in Utah, OKC, or Boston.
