Mount should never be starting ahead of foden. Foden is better at everything than mount, and he is way, way more dangerous on the pitch

Spencer, I work in production design, don't have swivvle chairs in a studio. If people aren't confident or even too relaxed in front of the camera they tend to use that as a subconcious area to express their inexperience. Also, just because Dier wasn't positive, doesn't mean he didn't have a bad game when came in. Everyone was very good, bar Stones pulling shirts, and Rice with a few loose passes.

Mount getting stick for nothing. If he was a 10 I’d get it but he was playing as an 8. He was there to progress the ball and provide a link in transitions

I do believe that foden should start over mount. But mount played really well linking the midfield to the attack for some quick counters

Great performance from the boys just a little input on maguire though obviously he impressed and played very well in an england shirt yet again but if you look back at the first iran goal it was on Maguire in my opinion he switched off for a couple of seconds which allowed the iranian attacker to run past him and score. Also there was a few mistakes that shouldn't have happened throughout the game which against iran isn't that big of an issue but against a top 6 team could have cost us. Solid performance overall though 👏🏼

I’m not a maguire hater but honestly he had no defending to do and the one bit he did have to do they scored from his poor reading and movement. And on the hall he scares you, takes unnecessary risks and he’s incredibly slow on the ball. He is a liability at the back a HUGE liability and it will come back and bite us in the ass if we play him against a competent opponent

@@eugenehapp452 True mate he is vulnerable when players run at him like the USA will on Friday if he starts. Can't complain about him in the opponents area though.. real threat. Agree with the pundit here that he is safer in a back 3, but then we don't flow as well as a team with 3 centre backs. I just worry about our recovery speed with Walker left out, as you said we will get found out against a good team with him part of a back 4.

The situation in iran is not normal , i still think we would have been the losers in a normal game, but i will just tell you this : no one is sad with this loss in iran , even half of the people were celebrating last night in the country

You can't count the second goal, it was a weak penalty, nothing wrong with the defending of the actual corner. Admittedly though, the first goal was a defensive error, Maguire switched off, and they also had another chance that they should have put away. I think against tougher opponents when we're more switched on and not ahead by 3-4 goals we'll be fine. Also Southgate will likely shore up the defense against the tougher sides or play more defensive midfielders.

@@tomwhite5868 Agreed, and keep in mind Stones and Maguire have not played that much football in recent times, Maguire especially. No doubt the scoreline as you mentioned played a role in them switching off a bit and I'd like to see them be more clinical against America.
