It's 2024. We're seeing extreme weather cause wildfires, floods, droughts, Arctic outbreaks all because our engineers have been designing systems with smokestacks and tailpipes instead of dynamos and photovoltaics. The engineering crisis is climate change. The massive engineering mistake is the fossil trade.

Its 4 months into 2024, where were you prior to this year, Bart? Been going on for millenia, Bart. And yes, your comment appears entirely AI generated.

@@horussees Does your string of non sequitur have some point? What does it matter how many months in 2024 have passed; Fourier documented how the atmosphere interacts with inbound and outbound radiation in 1824. We've had two hundred years to teach engineers the facts of radiative transfer. Every engineer ought by now know that fossil emissions are bad engineering. What is it you believe has been "going on for millenia"[sic]? Bad engineering? Yes, and since 1965 the US President's Science Advisory Council Report has identified this crisis and the solution: end fossil trade. We have better, more cost-effective, methods and materials in every field of engineering than fossil: renewable electricity generation is cheaper by far than fossil; EVs in like for like comparison on AFDC's calculator all beat ICE. Any engineer still designing fossil emitters is simply failing to engineer safely.
