As a Guard at Bath Rd, I was on the 07.30 HST to Birmingham, when doing 110 mph the Driver gave a full brake application, I saw nothing, but he spotted a red flag 3/4 of a mile away, and we ran through 3 dets, it was a broken rail.

The intercity 125 are very old trains but nice 👍🏻 to see and good on

I didnt know they had keys! That explains why they were always late in the 1980s, the driver left the keys at home

and today power car 43048 has gone into retirement, wish i did this, would have made my childhood

I'm just thinking about the sheer cost in money of starting and running a train that weighs xxx tonnes 😬. Literally money up in smoke

This was at an open day, they are few and far between but I reckon you would be in with a chance at some point.

The Driver’s master key needs to be in before the engine can be started. So whilst not an ignition key, a key is needed, as you can see at three minutes in.

The master key is the the key that unlocks all of the controls that's why it's called a"master key"
