Wow, I had no idea what I was getting into with this part of the build. Just getting the engine ready for removal was a beast. Getting the engine out of the frame was a major beast. Prepping it took 7 hours which bled into the next day...which was raining. But the end result is awesome...a nice satin black finish. Good as new.
Come back next Tuesday where we take the rolling frame into the metal fabrication shop for some serious custom rear end customization.

This restoration/customizing stuff is awesome man. Dude I swear, every time I work on a bike of mine and start painting something I've removed it gives me the same satisfied feeling that I used to feel so often composing music & producing. It's so great breaking everything apart and having your way with it as an artist and then once it's done you can stand back....look and listen to the creation like, "Yeah I did That!" ....idk
Something gratifying about watching an engine get degreased, roughed, primed and painted. My therapy today. Thanks!
3:35 to avoid bs promo
Nicely done Sir, you're a very patient person and thorough work always pays off. Whoever wins this Moto will be very appreciative of your efforts and attention to detail. I'm diggin' it! Cheerz!
I personally take the screws out before painting. I do not like the looks of screws painted to the parts and also if you have to take them out ever in the future you ruin the whole paint! Same goes for all the places the parts join. I either paint them seperately or mask the joining line off. Only exeption is the cylinder head.
WOW, someone actually getting his hands dirty and doing cool work. All I see is couch potatos disrespecting him. 😔 Keep up the fun, build cool shit, ignore the trolls. 🤘
Came out looking great. Can’t wait to mine
Top job mate. The heat here in Australia at the moment is making it hard to work on the bikes through the day, so always good watching your channel whilst I wait for it to cool off.
Great video, and whole series so far! Hate having to wait for the next episode though!
Good motors the CB 650 looks great
This is so relaxing.
Nice Work ! Cant wait to see how it turns out.. I almost bought that same diamond pattern tank for my 48 tank upgrade. I do like the look of it! Keep up the good work!
looking pretty good, i like were this is going
MP YOU ARE A MAD MAN! Oh and you missed a spot....braaap!!
Love your build series and this looks like it's going to be another good one!
Great look on the paint job mate :)
Looks Good, Moto!👍😃
That looks very cool 😎
Looking good!
I hope to see an in depth tuning video when you get to that point. I tried diligently to run pods on my 78 cb750 and no matter what jets I tried it would not tune. Finally went back to the stock air box and she runs like a dream!! Looking awesome so far. Can’t wait for the next installment. 🤘🏻

You know what you are doing good job 👌🏻
Dude I'm loving your builds. I'm wanting to attempt my own Bobber. Little 650s are all over Craigslist here. Newer Shadows but still.
Hi great videos as always great to watch great content bike is coming on now keep them coming
Man I congratulate you all the work and money that you put into this bike your patience and time is much appreciated to do the effort to make somebody happy is awesome keep doing the good work much appreciated and God bless🙏✌👍🍺🍺🍺🍀🍀🍀
Why are you painting and not giving us the products you used in the description? Kick your content up a notch bra!
Крутой мужик. Руки растут от куда надо. Видосы бомба. Красота 💪👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
6:57 Looks like my TTR125 does! haha "GREASY!"
Nice bro
Hard work indeed
Loving that gas tank
Ótimo trabalho muito bom
It’s purdy!
Only problem I see not painting parts separately is that when you take them off, covers, cylinder heads, etc. It'll mess up the finish when the seam is broken. Maybe not. I'd like to do a black base, with red accents.
Simple green and a powerwash before all that elbow grass would do wonders but looking good so far brother!
Nice! That engine looks awesome! Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work.
Spray bombing an engine always ages real well.
Looks ace_
I could take it apart easy but putting it all back in one piece that's another story.
looks good. but will it last.
Awesome is it heat Registence
I wanna fill in the Honda stamped in the clutch engine cover, do you think Bondo would hold up if it was used. Little Bondo over the honda stamp, sanded smooth and blacked out!! the Little details !! looks amazing either way tho
How many cans of primer and paint did you used on the engine? thanks
Can you please provide the link of the items you bought online?
Nice its give me some idea
how does the paint hold???
The diamond pattern tank is cool, where did you get that from
Hi There, looks great but got one question which may be a little daft but I didn’t see u paint the bits that are testing on the lift, was that as easy as repositioning the engine and filling in the missed bits? Cheers
LOL!!! You said " it's really cold, it's in the 50's". That's not even close to cold. Anyway, great video. I learned a lot. Thanks.

He meant it's cold for spray painting. You should ideally spray paint in around 70-75 degrees and low humidity for best results.
Silver or black which one is better to spray with
Where'd u get that gas tank from?? Lov it...nice build 👍👍👍
Ever try easyoff oven cleaner non scented? Does wonders try it you will bee amazed
In the first good 👍 job sir
What la pera seat is that? I like it can we get a bit more info on it? Name or part#
What's the paint you use and can you spray a mounted engine without damaging oil, petrol etc ? Nice btw
Were those 2 spray cans enough for the whole job?
50 degrees is cold?! Try -20 for a week with the wind. Looking good so far
You are amazing
How many coats did you do and did you put and clear on
where did you get that tank?
can i use perma blue instead of paint on the engine?
..those big kerosene or propane Jet heaters work good for that, & keep your whole Work Area warm..just push the Nozzle away while Spraying, then bring it Back..
nice job .. the progress is awsome :D .. however .. i would hate to be the next guy to take that engine apart .. will chip all over the place , then again its a Honda .. it never breaks :D
Try mineral spirits next time for cleaning.....Not as toxic!
looks good. but aren't the jugs powder coated? and you cant paint powder coat? Also how many cans did it take to do the job?
What paint did u use to prime and paint it
I've got a little rare 86 rebel 450 that I'm building into a hardtail bobber. I'm going to paint my motor gloss black and want the jug fin edges to be the factory aluminum color. Should I tape them off or just sand off the fins and polish?
hi, how many cans did it take please? Also do you need/use a clearcoat? great vid :)
what primer did you use?
Hey mate where do you get your fuel tanks from
Why didn’t he sand down the primer?? Thanks? ...?
Whats the sizes of the wheels you're using in this vid?..
What are the best durable sprays to paint engine? What sparys did you use in this video? Could you please tell us?

That paint is made for high temperature and cures at high temps.
You made me go outside and paint my bike in the middle of the night but question. Would it be a good idea to wrap the gastank I'm going for a machine gun grey and dark night aka batman black
Would you apply that same primer if you were doing a high temperature wrinkle black? or just do the prep like you did and hop straight into the wrinkle?

Hey, enjoyed the vid. Restoring an old kart for my boys and was wondering how the paints held up?? Also, how big is that engine… Not incredibly familiar with bikes, but looks like it will throw you back a bit. 👍

How much of primer cans and paint cant required for a complete motorcycle
Bro need sponsor for my go pro hero 5 adapter huhuhu
Safe than GAS, and less dangerous is restaurant HOOD CLEANER/Degreaser but wear gloves.
Hi, can you please tell me what paint and primer you used to paint?

Hey I really would like to enter the contest to win the bike but on the patreon page your address isn’t complete so I won’t be able to send anything with out the proper address could you please let me know? Thank you big fan 👍🏻👍🏻

Anyone have any advice/guidance/info about how clean your motor really needs to be before primer and paint? I have an ‘81 CB750 that I’m doing a brat/cafe build out of and it probably hasn’t been washed in 40 years. I’m going over it with a mixture of dawn and simple green cleaner degreaser and using anything at my disposal to get to as much of it as possible. If a little bit of dirt and grease is let behind here and there, will that hurt it? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

Ive got a honda rebel 450 engine I just prepped today. Im kind of anal about my shit, so I went to harbor freight and got a soda blaster and some of their fine grit soda and blasted the grime off it. get the cheap $30 one, it works just fine so long as you have at least a 1 horse compressor. Like yours, previous owner neglected it and probably never washed it, and it came out beautiful. Only took about 2 hrs and i was able to get every nook and cranny clean of debris. just make sure to plug every in/outlet before doing this, and once done just hose er off and blow the water off with compressed air. hope this helps!
