you should look into small powerful blenders like the nutribullet for anything you want to blend that is for only 1-2 servings! I highly recommend especially if you are only blending a drink for yourself or for one other person. I used to use a big blender like the one you have (vitamix) and it would always have a hard time blending like yours did.
