It's so painful! 💔 This is for the people who say "they want to go into the military" It's ridiculous to think that they want to do it when the 7 all the time say that they want to be together as soon as possible and continue as a team! Shame on the Korean government for not exempting them!! The two governments (the previous one and this one) have gone around a thousand times for years and have used them for political propaganda, for Korea and as ambassadors and they were not able to let them continue as artists who give so much to the country! 7 more are useless in the army when outside they give billions to the economy, thousands of tourists and international prestige!

How were they forced? Do you mean because of the military? I'm glad they have this break. They needed it. I can still hear the desperation in RM'S voice during the dinner, apologizing for needing it. Feeling like he was letting us down for needing it. Wanting to live life without the "rules of the world". They need this for their health and sanity, imo.

Because he said "The thing I want to do and the thing I wish continues is that we'll be together, be sincere when we perform on stage, and when we gather and talk like this. *That we could be happy without thinking about the rules of the world. That's all I want.*" The rules of the world. The rules of being diplomats (as RM had just referred to), the rules of all the things they unfortunately can't talk about honestly (as Jimin had just referred to). The rules of countries at war, and a society that requires its citizens to give up to 2 years of their lives to serve in the military. I agree that they were creatively lost, but I also think that 95% of that Festa video was about them having to say goodbye to their youth, and the life we all have lived up until now. That is why they were all crying. They would have overcome their creative drought together, as they always have, if they hadn't had a stopwatch on their backs. They are making lemonade by doing these solo projects, and every single one of them has expressed how they can't wait for 2025. So yes, forced, by the rules of the world, in to a situation they don't want to be in and have no control over.

@@faithslayer500 I think we interpreted "rules of the world" differently.. My interpretation was that the rules of the world were holding him back from being his true, authentic self. They need the rest. They need to live life so they can gather up more experiences and have things to write about. The tears were for a number of reasons. Yes, saying goodbye to their youth, maybe some trepidation about what comes next but I also got the impression it really bothers them when they can't be completely honest with ARMY and say everything they want to say and share what they want to share. That's a horrible feeling and he felt that deeply and he was super concerned that we would feel he was letting us down by simply needing rest and to nurture their minds, bodies and souls...any, yes, serve their military service. They are definitely forced to do that as are all the young men there but I just don't see it as being forced to take a break. I think it's what they all wanted. A hard decision, no doubt but very much needed.

​@@1marieleathem I do agree with the points you're making, I think both scenarios can be partially true. But I fundamentally don't believe that they wanted to leave BTS activities for 3+ years at their peak. They knew enlistment was coming, so they rolled rest+solo growth in to it to try to make the best of it. But if they had been granted exemptions and a parade from the SK media (as they have fully earned) then we would all be looking at a very different situation. I think this confusion came about because the final edit of the Festa dinner did not address the military element and many fans who didn't know about it just took what was said at face value. RM took the hit and talked about why he personally had been struggling because they had to say something and Jin didn't want to publicly talk about enlistment until after Busan (it's clear most of his parts were edited out + he himself said his jokes were cut). As someone who had just watched another idol enlist, and knowing the predicament they were in, it was clear to me that they were stuck in a situation that they couldn't talk about without igniting the media, the fans, the politicians, the public, everyone. Which is exactly what Jimin said. I'm really glad that we've been able to talk about this kindly, I'm used to twitter where there is no room for rational discussions haha. And I'm glad that you are looking at the hiatus positively and wish the best for them. But "forced" is still the word I would use to describe what has happened and I think the past year and a half has been incredibly painful for them (some members more than others).
