Yes, it still baffles me how the incident was none of his fault at all, yet he somehow took the brunt of it at the centre of the storm. Nothing about it made sense. What made me like him even more is that although he laid low, he persevered, he didn't give up, he still went and did things to improve himself and his skills. And thankfully, he came out of all of that to reach new levels of popularity. Love his singing, his acting, as well as his interviews as they show how genuine, sincere, and well-balanced he is in his thoughts. If you haven't seen it already, watch his performance at the Tencent Star Awards 2020 and the Red Sea. It was a turning point because it showed everyone that his supporters are still there, his popularity still exists, and I think it gave an indicator to the business world that he could make a "comeback".

@@pris19me too! It was so touching and made me cry too! Especially with the back story of the incident, how he practically didn't appear in public for the year, I think it meant a lot to him to see that his supporters and fans are still there for him. Not to mention that since the fan club disbanded, the fans had to get tickets via their own means and even they didn't know that there would be so many others in the crowd with them. They didn't even know for sure that Xiao Zhan would turn up, but if he does, they wanted to ensure he saw them. Ahhh so touching. And that smile when Xiao Zhan looked up, so special 🥰

Yes i read about the backstory too of how the fan club was disbanded and yet everyone still went all out to get their tickets, bring in the red lights to the venue despite risk of getting it confiscated. Only 2 idols, K-Pop BTS Jeon Jung Kook and Taehyun of TXT also known as Tomorrow X Together give me goosebumps when they sing ballads. Now Xiao Zhan is added to my 2 biases. I also listen to the full OST of The Oath of Love.

Luckily he still sang for events, and he was also part of this singing competition with other singers a few years back, so there's several videos of his covers/performances on youtube!

@@ahyifan I will look for his videos on KZread. I love listening to any genre of music and never been a fan of any particular singer until discovering K-Pop BTS in 2019 and during Covid. A friend introduced dramas to me 3 months ago, Yanxi Palace and Ruyi’s Love of the Palace. These dramas made me read up on the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Although past history now learning about the concubines made me so sad. So I prefer dramas like The Oath of Love, Go Into Your Heart and Miss Crow With Mr Lizard.

Xiao zhan is a very good actor and singer l like the way he sings with his angelic voice good luck God Bless

I read the book ‘The Oath of Love’ long before it became a drama. I was excited when I read #TOOL was becoming a drama, and whom the characters would be. Since I was a #YangZi fan, I was happy, but I didn’t know much about #XiaoZhan. The thing about TOOL, it took several years for it to broadcast, but it finally came to fruition, both Yang Zi and Xiao Zhan were perfect for the role.

I am new to c-drama and k-drama as i watched Hollywood movies and series most of the time. I have seen Ace Troops and Oath of Love. I must say, XZ is an excellent actor. Like Yang Zi, he does not overact and even facial expressions are very adept to the character being portrayed. I have known Yang Zi sometime and admire her natural acting as well . They both deserve celebrity awards. Both of them sing so....they really are flexible. I wish them success on their own journey!

Agree, the acting is all very natural and aligns with the character persona, which makes it easy for the audience to fall into the story! The Untamed is also a very popular drama by Xiao Zhan albeit it is from 2019; the drama that first sent him to top tier stardom. See if that is of interest to you!
