For these 500 years, Wukong waited patiently for the arrival of Buddhist monk Tang Monk. Taibai Jinxing brought him a Yuan Shen Bead, claiming that he could regain his freedom as long as he sent the bead to Fangcun Mountain, Lingtai. In order to gain freedom, Wukong was ordered to go out of the mountain. Along the way, he and the curious and brave Tianwei rescued the intellectual and innocent painting fairy. The three went through disasters and searched for their hearts along the way.
