He's planning to sacrifice himself in her place. He doesn't want her to miss him or be devastated with guilt that he died in her place. He'd rather she hate him than to feel guilt that it should have been her. He removed the memory of her having to sacrifice herself from her mind, and he cultivated chaos power to take her place.

You can really tell the difference between Shanggu and Houchi. They're both headstrong and they'll both stand up to their bullies, but Shanggu knows she's got power to back it up and the cunning to turn the crowd against her opponent. I'm loving this for her. Zhou Dongyu does a phenomenal job of portraying her steel core. Writers got to know we don't need more scenes where a man comes to rescue her.

Nobody is talking about how great bai jue son is.. he's Soo good in acting I love that boy Keep it up😌

I felt like y’all are too focus on hating Bai jue that y’all don’t even see how much he force himself to hurt her, protect her and at the same time love her. Every episode when he hurts her I always see his gaze that he himself is also hurt. He sacrificed everything for her and is willing to be the bad guy. I felt like to be the one who knew everything and try to make that other one who knows nothing hurt is more torturing than everything. But he knew his effort is going to pay off everything in the end as long as she live. He’s selfless he’s not selfish or a coward like most of you said. He’s giving off everything to her. Sometimes in life we cannot get everything that we want.

Sure he lives with the fact that his family hates him but he deserves it. He sacrifices himself leaving Shanngu to mourn for 6 centuries while they’re son cares more for Tianqi than his father. He’s done nothing but move the feeling of grief from himself (losing her) to her (losing him) that’s not love that’s just selfish

For anyone who can't understand BJ's decision-making behind his apparent cruelty and indifference hasn't been paying enough attention. He's loved her as BJ, QM, and BJ here again- he's loved her through different lives and knows full well the agony of having lost her to the Doom. He's just trying to ensure she and his son don't go through the same agony he experienced. He's also trying to protect her from sacrificing herself again knowing full well she'll try if she knows the 3 realms need it.

Ughhh. I'm watching this where he's disguised as Fen Ran looking after Shanggu and their son, and I'm heartbroken. He's always been there. He's always loved them. He's shared moments with his son (while in disguise) that are full of love and care and taught him beautiful things he shared with Shanggu and Hou Chi and yet he's forced himself into his own personal hell being hated by them both.

Man, I know that Bai Jue deserves the temporarily hate from everyone, but I just can’t stand it. Like I can just feel the pain in his eyes, I can’t even describe it. He was always nice to his son but for SG‘s sake he is being cold and shit to SG. The affection he shows for SG, the way he cried, my heart just blew away. I just can’t hate him and had never hated him before. He definitely did some horrible mistakes, but everyone does, so does SG.

I don't know who I adore more, Bai Jue or Tianqi. God Gu Jun made me cry the way he took care of Houchu knowing she was his master Shanggu. My favorite girl used to be Wei Yinglou from Yanxi Palace and Ruyi and Hailan from Ruyis Royal Love but not it's most definitely Shanggu and Ruyi. I find it funny that you have three Yanxi Palace people here, Bai Jue,Wu Hun and the immortal who tried to kill Fengran at the party. Then you have two Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms and Eternal Love of dreams people here, God Gu Jun was Die Feng in ten miles and Prince Jiangjin was in Eternal Love !
