Blackpink released dddd in 2018 and charted on billboard hot 100 in the US, they were big BIG pre-coachella, as big as BTS during that time, Coachella was the consequence not the cause of their international stardom, they grew even bigger when hylt went viral on TikTok, the only time they were just "popular" was pre-dddd when twice still dominated the charts but they were never "not very popular" they became one of the top 3 gg as soon as they debuted
