@@17bbbb it’s very common in korea to call everyone who’s somehow ”not korean” a foreigner so i understand why he refers to himself a foreigner in this bc it’s annoying to explain. a few years ago on happy together he refered to himself as korean AND in an interview in 2015 he clearly says he considers himself culturally korean even tho his nationality includes ”american”. i just personally don’t like the whole foreigner thing bc it devides ppl into ”us” and ”them” even if they’re just as korean as the next person… just because it’s widely used doesn’t mean it’s very nice in this context :)
