【Cusco cathedral】
The majestic Cusco Cathedral, Cusco's principal ecclesiastical centre, is located on Plaza de Armas. It was constructed in 1654 with the intention of eradicating Incan religious beliefs and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is also an excellent area to sit, relax, and take in the city's panoramic views.
【Stone spotting】
A really simple thing to do when in Cusco; simply roam around! The contemporary city was built on the ancient Incan one. Many buildings have foundations made of gigantic stones that fit together miraculously. These are the genuine Incan stones, and no one understands how they were carved so flawlessly to fit together. They fit together so flawlessly that a piece of paper cannot pass through them. That's interesting to see!

🎻 What is the altitude of Cusco Peru?
Cusco is a city located in the Peruvian Andes at an altitude of 3,399 meters / 11,152 feet above sea level. Since Cusco (just above 11,000 feet) sits at a higher altitude than Machu Picchu (nearly 8,000 feet), it's recommended to travel down into the Sacred Valley (around 9,000 feet) after landing to acclimate at a less daunting altitude.
