Spoilers: This is probably the first time I've seen a Terran expand enough to get base parity with Protoss. Sharp is doing epic.

I don't think anyone can say the winner didn't well-deserve the semifinal spot spoiler He's had the best Vultures on the planet for a couple of years, but it was still amazing to watch how he buys time with them, plus the Goliath play. Totally fearless offensive defense.

What a great series, casting duo on point

Best has relied on his physicality and battle skills throughout his career. He has never deviated his game outside of that while other players mix it up with risky builds and etc. Beyond round of 16, it is best of 5-7 games where his opponents can focus on his one dimensional playing style which is much easier to prep for which I believe is the reason why he has failed to advance beyond round of 8 many times since reaching the finals.

It seems to always be an on-stage thing with Best. Online (KCM) the guy plays at a Silverback Prime level, and I swear his entire style is a little different, apart from the bulldog army plays. His PvZ is definitely different and better from what it was originally during that 0-3 humiliation vs. JulyZerg

I've been saying this for years. He's the most over hyped, skill less and zero thinking player. All he knows how to do is A-move and always does ok bc it's OP vs terran. Whenever it's a long series he always cracks bc he can't strategize at all

@@yangunderstandingnot a championship material?😅😂 thats really out of context as in the last two asl s just to talk about his form rn he topped all of his ro24 and ro16 groups while having one of the hardest groups ever, in the last 6 months official pro matches he has a 75%, sharp had a 60% you can just see that best choked here and made nunerous bad decisions

Sharp is looking... sharp 😏 He reminds me of Keen from SC2. Not only in being a bit on the lower end of the "top Terrans", but you can tell these guys have what it takes when everything clicks. Normally I don't cheer for Terrans, but good to see him playing well this season.

Damn the winner just looked top form that whole series. I could see him winning the whole thing even though this does seem the year of protoss

MOBAs actually come from Starcraft with custom maps like Aeon of Strife and Temple Siege.

Starcraft had Phantom map which was already the Amongus from 2005 :D

Sharp's macro was great and Best didn't counter hard enough when sharp just turtled and took a bunch of bases. We needed to see best take 2/3 of the map and go carriers on citadel to stand a chance.

What could best have done? An attack seems unlikely, harass seems plausible but best doesn't have snow micro with the reaver. I believe snow would've hard punished that terran. I think best could only go 5 bases when sharp was 3, and go 6 bases when sharp is 4. That sounds better than attacking.

@@monkeymoo87 Yeah. But best was so unprepared, he didn't even wall off after seeing a vulture pop and machine shop spinning. It's obvious it's not seige mode because sharp was under no goon pressure. And it's SHARP. Everyone (except Best, apparently) knows his thing is getting vultures into probe lines. Such fail. Artosis was so disappointed by this performance, he gave up on best saying "I'm no longer going to say he needs to win an ASL, he's demonstrated he's incapable" (paraphrased)

it was so painful for me to watch how Best sends just 3-4-5 zealots together on the minefields. Insteaqd of pick the mines with 2 zealots.

Reaver at 55:22 crawls over to the terran mineral-only and is forgotten about by both sides for the rest of the game T_T

it's telling how even the matches are when even the experts can't call the game

Awesome cast. StarCast is right up there with Tastosis, if not better. Kudos to Sharp. Love his style. Rooting for him the rest of the way.

Pretty clearly outplayed. Outclassed even. Best has great macro (even that is dubious, he often just makes a ton of zealots), but very little finesse. It's brute force all the way. Sharp on the other hand showed great flexibility and thinking on his feet. This on top of great control.

Terran siege and win is really disgusting

Don't want to be rude nor to take anything away from Sharp but Best play in this series wasn't worth an ASL RO8. He came in the series with no plans other than going 12 nexus and outmacro T. No reaver harassment at all, no carriers, not even arbiters nor templars until way 2 late in the game... just endless streams of zealots/goons the entire series. You're not beating any T in the top 8 playing this kinda ape style, really.

As usual, Best is always BAD

glad sharp won, best is like the least skilled ASL player (relatively of course). only gets far because how op protoss is vs terran. this is the epitome of unga bunga protoss. 1. make army/expansions. 2. throw it at terran.

I don’t like Gypsy casting.
