I'd not really thought too much about the AI mechanics of these games - but my that map highlight the complexity and thought that must have gone into designing it.

Yes, this one is very unique in that it's trying to simulate an opponent. Most solitaire games are very procedural, and the enemy really isn't reacting or "acting". This one is very different in that regard.

Thanks again for a nice video. I am waiting for my pre-order to arrive, so I am interested to learn what’s in the box. I really appreciate that you put effort in studying the materials up-front and explain there functions and your opinions on the game. This adds value to the video! (I will remove the shrinkwrap myself 😬)

Thanks for the kind words! I try to aim for a bit more than showing contents, but also want to stop well short of judging the gameplay until I've had a chance to play it. I'm very interested to see how this plays out. I don't think wargaming has a solitaire experience like this, with an AI that can play in open terrain like this. :) I'd be curious to hear how you like the game as you explore it! :)

It's a remarkable achievement, the thinking that must have gone into this is amazing.

Really good unboxing as I was interested to see what was in the box, unfortunately for me it's out of my price range. Looks a really interesting game that would keep one occupied with hours of fun. The Map & counters look top quality with plenty of info as well. I found a play through of the game on Moe's Game Table and John Butterfield was doing a computer walk through of the game. You will really enjoy playing this game.

Thanks! I will check that video out once I get the 2-player game down, and yes, it's definitely not a budget game. I can understand why, though, as developing this must have taken a lot of time. It's got to be 2-3 times the work of a regular game.

Thanks, and ha! I actually had him in the video at the end but decided to take him out at the last minute. Maybe he'll make an appearance next time. :)

pre-rounded counters becoming more prevalent? Don't tease my like that unless it's true! :) Looks like an interesting game.

I know, right?! The rounded counters... times are a changing perhaps? All 3 of the games I've opened in the past couple of weeks have had rounded counters. Small sample size, I know, but it'll be interesting to see where this goes in the next couple of years. I'm very interested to see how this plays. A board wargame AI that can handle open terrain is dazzling to imagine. :)
