the dipstick is designed to read the oil level without screwing it in.

This is what I came to say. I wasn't sure if the little bikes are different, but my Honda Blackbird manual says to set the dipstick in the hole without screwing it in. I do the same with my Templar X.
Don't need no expensive adventure bike. Those little machines didn't do too bad on the long of a trip.

Not bad, XR is definitely my go-to now
Unlucky you guys in america get them around $4k+, its around 1780 here in southeast asia.
Super badass vlog. Can't wait to see some more long trips with the XR150l
Great video
Looked like a fun adventure, and both bikes seem to work great.

I’m rly impressed yall went on a freeway with those bikes plus the bags. I haven’t taken my crf250 on the freeway because I thought it was too underpowered
Some folks here on-line took their pair of 150L's 800 miles to the Tail of the Dragon, did whatever you do there, & did the 800miles home. That's a long haul on these little bikes. MishMashMoto here on YT... I was amazed at their little trip. You guys came down to Texoma? I live across the Dam from some of the lower lake camping areas. Great big lake, you'll find a boat. lol, peace

Just tuning back in after a long hiatus. Sweet video! Is Blake around? I’m not trolling, just hoping you guys are at least friends still. You two made magic together. This camp video is an awesome new idea, look forward to more of this😎🙌🏿

Still friends, he was on a recent video actually, take a look back and you will see him
Amazing bike
simple bike, low maintenance, no worries. It's about the adventure, not about the bike. Stress-free. I don't know why you need GS or big adventure bike that cost a fortune.
I do think there was more thought in that beer system then you say. LMAO

Where did you get the box on the 150? Perfect dual purpose for a dog carrier.
Hows the hawk 250 doing ?? Really considering buying one or should i just get the xr150
Hired a honda XR150 in Vietnam, pretty popular there for rentals as you can carry 2 people and gear ok, spent 3 months riding all around Vietnam, was a great machine, they use oil and you are told to keep an eye on it, oil changes every 1000km, putting higher quality oil in makes alot of difference to power and refinement, only oroblem i had was seat was fairly high and with gear on back seat, a bit anoying to get on and off on a slope....

I have had 4 of these that I used on trips and sold when done. My 2016 needed oil every 400k or so. Did a 28,000km trip on it and bulletproof as long as I paid attention to the oil. Also had one in 2018 for Colombia and it burnt oil. The last two (2022 and 2024) in Colombia/Peru didnt burn a drop... so not sure if they improved them or not.

Yes, the first one I hired was an older , higher km model and it was down a bit on power and motor was noisy , used oil, the 2nd one was newer, lower km and seemed much more powerful and didn't use as much oil....
Them bikes too slow for the highway reminds me of that scene from dumb and dumber on the scooter
Good thing you got the hawk looks like it is doing a great job caring all the gear

Yeah the box is heavier than the bags. I am 120 lbs heavier than orion. Simple math makes what you said completely backward. The honda is hauling about 340 lbs. hawk about 210
Get up in there

Dude where is your gear? Gloves pants jacket? Have you ever fallen on tarmac before?

The factory service and repair manual says to test oil level with bike level and NOT to screw in the dip stick...reading is obtained unthreaded.

So thinking about getting a xr150 as my first manual shift bike. I have a Navi and a adv 150. I want something that can come close to the scooter speed but be slow enough for me to learn but be faster then a Navi so I can get it on the highway. What’s your opinion?

@@FinityEdits-kr2qmyes!! Love it. Learning manual isn’t nearly as daunting as I thought. Slowly getting that down. Had one issue with the bike, once warmed up it was idling way too high. Had to get a rpm gauge off Amazon and turn the idle screw down to 1500. Besides that I ordered a top box for my helmet and replaced the pegs. Kinda wanting to get some spare Honda tubes but I need to call the dealer for the part number or get spares from them. It’s so fun to ride!
Where can I buy one of those totes?
