Anh này trước là người Mỹ bây giờ là người Mỹ Tho. Anh ấy ăn được rất nhiều món VN như mắm tôm, dưa cà, rau xào, canh rau, nước mắm ớt luôn là sở trường của anh ấy.

Then we're even more impressed because you like to eat the food that normally foreign people do not like to eat: like several types of fermented food, sate, etc, you know the ones with really strong taste and smells.

Max is like a food Bodhisattva; he enlightens westerners about “what is comfort food.” As i travel the States, i realize truck drivers in Vietnam has better choices of lunch; I wish truck drivers in the States will have more access to better choices of food.

I really love how you genuinely enjoy Vietnamese dishes, because in our heads, most foreigners especially in the Western world, people can't eat those kinds of sauces and can't take strong smells, or flavors. Really happy that you enjoy them man

That snack at the end is called "bánh tráng kẹo mạch nha" which is "sponge rice paper with barley sugar". It was my no.1 snack of ALL TIME when I was a kid, yet I haven't had them for like 10 years and totally forgot about its existence. You really brought me down my memory lane with that for sure. This is why I love your videos so much. Those nostalgic moments, those memories ... Tomorrow I'll definitely go look for that lady. Thank you, Max, I really do !

Nể thật đấy. Mình ăn đc mắm chưng nhưng chỉ ăn đc 1/3 cái chén đó là ngán, cà pháo mắm tôm, dưa cải chua mình cũng không ăn đc nhiều.

"Cơm bình dân" is the 2nd family meal of most Vietnamese people when they cannot go home. It's good and cheap. (Tip for you For dishes that have a sauce such as 'heo quay cải chua' ...you should pickle the chili into the sauce to increase the flavor of the dish ) . Enjoy the meal !

Món này rất ít chỗ còn bán ở SG. 2 năm trước tôi cũng được ăn lại sau gần 30 năm không được ăn.
