I am a voice student. One thing wrong with love songs is some gets to "mushy". I would not feel comfortable singing "mushy" songs solo. But as a duet with a female singer, that might be fine , not a problem. One thing for a guy singing solo in certain love songs, it makes him look too "blue pill". Whereas as a duet with a female singer, it would make him less blue pill.
