We really enjoyed the video. I was just at Show Pony 2 weeks ago and had a blast. Boogie boarding in the ocean was awesome. Miles of gorgeous sand. I can't wait to take my grandkids there. Show Pony has lots of games, volleyball that can entertain them.

We appreciate this information. We cant wait to come explore Panama in February! My question would be around transportation. Getting to Las Lajas from David seemed easy and inexpensive. Was it at all difficult getting back to David? How often does the bus run back and forth to and from David? How does one get a cab from the beach in Las Lajas to get back to the bus stop? I hope that isnt a dumb question. It seems so remote.

  • @freedom55adventure

Hi, not a dumb question at all. The buses are more frequent from San Felix than from Las Lajas. Cabs are in both locations frequently and if not, the resort's will call them for you. One warning, always ask how much the charge is, before you get in the car. The buses are never on schedule. You just go whenever you want and wait. They have stores at both locations to get drinks etc. It seems overwhelming, but it's really easy. You pay when you arrive, not when you leave or have to buy a ticket. It's worth the adventure. I hope this helps

We are going to Panama in Jan-feb also and that is my question too. Transportation is one of my main concerns also especially from PC to Boquete and other places for possible trips to other areas. Renting a car vs using public buses and Uber. Am so looking forward to Panama after doing a guided tour of Costa Rica for 9 days .

@@davebonar1 Hi, the buses to all locations are running frequently. There is a set schedule, but they try to get as many fares as possible and don't really follow it. It is not difficult at all, since the buses and stops have signage. At the beach there are resorts or another suggestion would be to get the Whatsup phone number from the taxi driver that you took from the bus stop, if that makes sense.

Curious of how you could find out what Uber would cost for trips from Boquete to Las Lajas Beach. If you have luggage is the bus viable to go on the buses from these cities in Panama ?

Can a person safely swim on that stretch of beach in Las Lajas? Or is it considered dangerous at all? Thanks... Eric

  • @freedom55adventure

I’m not sure I want to answer that one. It depends on the person and their ability as well as behaviour in the water. We, 4 adults in mid to bad physical shape, played in the waves several times and we were fine. However, if you consume alcohol, drugs, or don’t know how to swim in the ocean, it could be a different story. Further up, as I understand, is a possibility of rip tides, but I am not sure. We live the beach at the resort and go there often to swim. I hope that somewhat answers your question. Thank you for watching and please subscribe so we can grow this channel. It’s Free!

@@freedom55adventure Thanks for your response. I'm considering a visit to Las Lajas as part vacation and part scouting trip for a possible future permanent move. It kind of cliche now to say, "So-and-so place is the 'Best Kept Secret'", but it does seem like Las Lajas really, truly still is a well-kept secret, and yet it is not completely devoid of modern amenities, which is the sort of balance I'm on the lookout for. In general, would you recommend Las Lajas, either for a visit and/or for a permanent move? Thanks...

Hi, it definitely is worth a visit. Many people like to get out of the rain from higher elevations like Boquete, to get some sun and sea breeze. The town has an basic Supermarket, Fondas, hotels and small shops. For anything else you have to go to David. Check it out first and see how it feels. Don't commit to anything until you see it in person!

@@freedom55adventure Good advice. Thank you. Just one more question if it's OK: Do you happen to know if there are a decent number of long term rentals available in Las Lajas? I would definitely want to rent first before buying any property, so just wondering in general if long term rentals can be fairly easily found in the Las Lajas area. Thanks again...

@@dogperday yes, there are always signs on houses “alquiler”, which is often the best way to find a good rental. I would check on AirBnB and Encuentr24 on line as well.
