I have received feedback regarding not squaring the frame on a table top, which absolutely agree with. I squared my frame on glass table top because i was not able to afford granite offcuts for the squaring. The correct way is to sqaure the frame on top a granite offcut or granite kitchen top.

Best practice is a flat granite block, but use what you have or can afford. Just check your surface for flatness, and your assembled parts for squareness. That’s the best you can do right now. This was a satisfying build to watch! Your printed parts were super clean, your printer color scheme was nice, and the videography wasn’t bad. I hope you see success and keep making good videos. You got a sub from me. 😁👍🏼

Good build. There is always a couch expert who is going to tell you what to do. Yes, the safe to recommend option for the general public is granite kitchen top. Not everyone can afford to splash money just to buy a granite top to square their 3d printer frame. You did a good job with what you had
@yaronskp

Optimally yes but ender has pre-made cuts that make it less susceptible to squaring issues.
Thank you for the video! I am slowly doing the switchwire conversion on my ender 3 Pro and I was looking for such a tutorial. You do a great job at explaining it! Keep up the good work! Definitely following this series! :)

Why not! Go for it 🙌🏽
I'm just starting out in building one and This is the best option to use Klipper and add an ercf. I can get an entire ender 3 pro for 69.00 including shipping on ebay, not working but the extrusions alone are worth it. Thanks for your video, can't wait to see how it goes!
I'm in the process of doing someting similar, although it's from my own modificagtions to Triano's usermod as I hadn't found this. The Y beam needs to be mounted very rigidly or you have resonance issues when you come to do input shaper, It's best to drill and tap new holes for the rear screws, failing that use the beefiest slide-in T-nuts you can find. Twist in ones just don't grip enough of the extrusion to get a good result. I'm just cadding up a motor mount that turns the pulley around and mounts the nmotor further inward to enable the use of a 48mm stepper. The creality ones are very feeble so I orderd some E3D/motech steppers of similar spec to the 0.9 degree 48mm LDOs that Voron reccomends and they don't fit.
Great work, you motivated me to uprgade mine as well.

what type and size of idler bearing do you use for the y axis tensioner? I am planning to replace my y axis tensioner ender 3 v2 like the one you are using
I drilled and tapped two additional holes to mount the Y axis 4040 rail with the original screws. I had the metric 5x1.0 tap and the #19 drill so why not? To mark where the holes had to be drilled I inserted a drill bit into the holes and spun it by had to make a mark, then put the Y axis rail on the drill press and made the holes.
Thanks for making this video. Every switchwire build video I've seen was 99.9% talking and .1% building. This is straight to the point. My brain can digest this. At 30:00 what filiment is that? It seems to have a granular pearl effect.

comparing your video to the start of the offical SW guide i noticed there are a lot of differences. The extusions used, the buuild plate mount, the y rails. how much does this differ from the voron sw?

Would you know the length of the M5 screw required if using t-nuts for the y extrusion?

I am not able to understand. Do you mean for the re-adjustment of Y-extrusion? If yes, then you will need M5X10 SCHS bolts.
Hey! Have a question about the "Unofficial BOM", has anything changed since the making of this video and also, where it says "Updated according to Ender_SW BOM", does this mean that quantities in the excel sheet have already been altered?

Probably not. What i meant by "Updated according to Ender_SW BOM" is that i have updated all the quantities of the fastners in the excel sheet according to the ENDER_SW CAD file. You can directly follow the BOM i have provided.

are skirts and decks just to make it look tidy? can they be skipped? relaxing and informative video.

Yes, they give a proper look to the printer. If you want, you can skip them. One thing though, the rear skirt mounts the IEC plug and a 6020 fan. So maybe think for an alternative for their assembly before ditching the rear skirt.

Would it work for regular ender 3?
@HyperMakes
2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can check out the Gizzle mod for the original Ender 3.
Most supplies ship the MGH rails with the carriages already mounted. You should NOT remove them, just install the rails and slide the carriages back and forth as needed to insert the screws. Also you did not show the application of grease to the rails and carriages, this should be done. If the carriages are shipped removed from the rails, they should come with a protective insert to keep the balls from falling out. When mounting the carriages to the rails, slowly slide the insert off as the carriages are inserted onto the rails. Keep these inserts to reverse the process if it is necessary to remove the carriages from the rails.
