Endangered sawfish spinning, dying off coast of Florida

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is launching an "emergency response" to reports of certain fish spinning and then dying in southern Florida. The behavior has been observed in smalltooth sawfish, an endangered species. Michael Crosby, president and CEO of the Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium, joined CBS News to discuss the bizarre occurrences.

Would it perhaps be because all the polluted water from Lake Okeechobee is being dumped on the sea without diluting it 🤔?

Gambierdiscus They keep trying to say "it's not red tide" to draw attention away from the Okeechobee discharges, when it's another algae that is blooming from the discharges.

Diluting it doesn’t work. . The same amount of chemicals still makes it way to the ocean whether one dilutes the chemicals or not. The chemicals need to be banned.

summary: yah we dunno wtf it is killing all the fish, but the one thing we do know is it's perfectly safe for you to go back in the water ... what?

I would postulate that perhaps this may be caused by either a neuro toxin or an invasive parasite.

Maybe you could take one and put it in clean water to see if it can recover.

Those fish are dying because of all the toxic sewage flowing into the ocean from Mar-A-Lago and its inhabitants.

Its not just sawfish, its all the fish from key west to Palm Beach. This is neurological damage to the point where they can no longer coordinate their movements. If you swim in the water briefly, you will get somewhat less neurological damage. Beaches and resorts are still wide open, just like during COVID. Republicans proudly keeping Florida free. Its agricultural pollution.

Hey.... I love the sawfish and I love marine history. I’m 18 & new to history or newly found the love of history. I asked my grandfather about this but he gave me an explanation I don’t think I can repeat.... Why do people throughout history give J€w$ a hard time? And do they deserve it?

Me and some other folks were actually discussing this any. Other marine wildlife that are doing the same things and then of course out West. The birds are just dropping out of the sky dead dozens of them at a time. What we think it ISIS. We are due for our North and South Pole to basically switch to rotate completely. And when that happens, it causes catastrophic events here. On our planet and that includes killing of the animals. And maybe it's mother's nature's way of just going ahead and getting everybody ready, hold on your hats, folks because we're overdue for this to happen in this really does happen. This could be the impending doom that notre Damas even predicted.
