Wow - the part about God allowing the holy things to be destroyed because of the people’s lack of piety puts the “wreckovations” and liturgical abuses in a much more understandable light. Pray the Rosary daily.

Sis crook I have read parts, maybe majority of the Bible. Skipped numbers I admit. Don't remember any tent stakes

Read the Book of Judith. You may have missed out if you read Palestinian Canon of the Bible revisited by the Jews in ca 90AD in response to destruction of the Temple and therefore end of sacrifice required by the Old Covenant (or you may say Old Testament.) This new Canon removed several books from Septuagint that was widely accepted as the Canon during Jesus Christ time. The official problem with that previous Canon was that they did not have Hebrew versions of that Holy Books. Unofficial was that they were too clear now that Jesus was Who He claimed to be. Later, Luther in abandoning the New Ark (it's type was Noe's Ark) - the Church - abandoned Septuagint and embraced Palestinian Canon of those who killed their Messiah (he wanted to remove the Apocalypse of John as 'weird', and the letter of James as going against 'faith alone') Anyway, go ahead and check them out.
