Agreed mate. It's nice to get out and I. The shops. Even though people say the high street is dying I still see lots of people using the shops. Although in some ways I get the argument. Yeah rare replay is such good value. I watched you're things you hate about gaming vid. Did make me laugh. You're spot on with a lot of those points though. I just find your channel today and subscribed. Great pickups! I'll definitely will check out some older videos in upcoming days. I'm heading to two CEX stores as well in Amsterdam. Ryse was the reason I preordered the Xbox one. Absolutely love it, and was gutted when it flopped and didn't get a sequel. Felt the same about The Order on PS4.

Same it deserves a sequel. And yeah The Order was brilliant. Also visually stunning like Ryse. That's the problem nowadays. It's all about yearly reups. So fresh new ideas get thrown to the wayside unfortunately.

Good stuff Pete. Rise to Honour is a nice game to get. If i remember correctly the idea behind using the right thumbstick for the combat was to try and mimic the fluidity of Jet Li's Wushu martial arts style. It kind of works i suppose. It was an interesting experiment.

Thanks for watching mate 👍 Yeah tbh Xbox one for me is the most underwhelming console ever released. That's from an exclusives perspective of course. If someone only has the Xbox one then it has a great library.

Nice grab with Driver San Francisco, Pete. Wanted to get that since it came out but here we are at the end of 2023 and I've still to get it 🤣 Will be interesting to see what you think of Quantum Break after all these years. I also haven't played it since back then to be fair but I don't recall finding the controls a problem as I said. Rare Replay is a really nice collection, well worth having that. Merry Christmas Pete, nice to see you back on a regular basis and having fun with your gaming again. Sometimes a step back allows us to evaluate and place us back on the right track. Thanks Alex. Can't argue for a couple of quid lol. I did try Quantum the other night. Still hate it lol. It's a nightmare to play. I wish I could just take cover and shoot everyone. All the time bullshit just over complicated the controls and gameplay lol. Thanks Alex. I've definitely been in a good flow of late. And yes taking a step back is always helpful. Not sure if they were in last year's PS3 vid. Overall game buying this year took massive back seat. So there's not much to show unfortunately. But I plan on rally boosting the collection in 2024. So there'll be plenty of pickups coming up 👍

Rare Replay is the best value release ever made! so many classics on it! I really need to play quantum break, i love its idea. Remedy do some great games. so i am hopeful i can get used to the controls, as sometimes that can be make or break for me too! awesome stuff. have a great xmas!🎄🎄

New subscriber, gotta say I'm loving your content. I will say, if you play long enough Gears 5 IS the continuation of Kait's story. It's kind of a mish-mash between JD Fenix(Marcus' Son), Del and Kait. Awesome to see some love for Rare Replay. They've added Goldeneye 007 to it after that released. Rise is a knacker of a game. Quite enjoyed the story of it, even if the QTE an essential part of the design.

Awesome pick-ups Matey. I love The operative no one lives forever. Bit tough in places but very fun. Picked it up a few year's ago. I was intrigued to play it because it was made by monolith who went on to make Condemned and F.E.A.R. can't go wrong with the Timesplitters games :). Oh how I miss that generation of Bond games. Easily the best era for bond video games in my opinion. (Except for rogue agent lol). I absolutely love the Doom 3 BFG edition. I remember picking it up from Blockbuster the day it came it out. One of the last games I ever purchased from there. Amazing value for money. 3 games in one plus 2 expansions. 5 in total If you count the two Doom 3 expansions as stand alone games.

Hey Pete, Happy New Year, and hope you had a decent Christmas. Rare Rare Replay at £3, was an absolute bargain, can't grumble at that. Ryse does look good. The fighting's direction clearly takes inspiration from 300. The Resistance games were great. Two is probably my fave, with three in second place, really liked it, but definitely different in tone and graphical style (if memory serves). The F.E.A.R. games were great also. Again if memory serves, I liked two the best. They were all good though. Regarding FEAR 1... I seem to remember hearing something like that. Might have been patched a bit though. Get Googling mate, haha.

@@Snestastic Yep, we all had a good time, and 'yes' there are. I planned on putting out two before I wet back to work (first day back today), but there was simply no time. A couple are in the pipeline very soon, one pickups for Nov-Dec, and the other a Blu-ray genre collection vid. The F.E.A.R. games are cheap enough, so yeah, maybe buy both mate.

Sounds like your BHF is like mine, they put all the discounted stuff on a carousel and you might occasionally find a game in the mix. Often BHF stores aren't worth checking though, they have a really organised and successful eBay page, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the good stuff goes there. Always nice to see something falling through the net though, nice one! I've never played Driver SF, I hear it's pretty solid. CeX are worth looking in for PS2 memory cards Pete, they're a bit cheaper than other places and have one price across the board for the official ones, you might get lucky and find a collectable one at the same price as the bog standard ones. The Hunter games look pretty good, even better if you're playing local multiplayer. It blows my mind how cheap Rare Replay is, must be one of the best value releases out there. A lot of branches of CeX will resurface a scratched game before you buy it mate, the best ones will do it without you asking though. Or not take it scratched in the first place, one of my locals only takes scratched disks if the games are of a certain value.

Yeah my xrx shops here don't seem to care about the disc condition tbh. I wasn't sure if they offered a resurfacing option. I'll have to ask next time I go in. It is frustrating with dvds. I read that Xbox one games are a blu ray style disc. So I thought they'd be fine because of the protective coating. But quantum has some serious gauges on the disc lol Rare Replay is such a fantastic deal. £3 for all those games. And perfect dark the original looks fantastic.

I have the same problem down here with regards to the charity shops, there's never anything in them that I want! 🤣 That Driver San Fran game is good fun from what I remember, I think I completed that years ago. Wasn't Driver 3 on the PS2/XBOX? I had it but I didn't play it much. You had a bit of luck there finding all those Bond games, considering you're a fan too! 😁🕵🏻‍♂ I couldn't get into Doom 3 either. It's a lot slower paced compared the original games isn't it. Scared the shite out of me, though!! 😱 Have a great Christmas Pete! See you on the other side!

I think it's mostly because they're trying to make it like other FPD games with the cinematic story. Instead of just keeping it Doom. Which is what we all really want. Driver San Fransisco is an absolute score. It's massively under rated and there's no other way to play it officially i.e not available digitally and no hd rereleases.

I bought an Xbox one day one. And ryse was the game I was most excited about. I enjoyed it, graphically amazing but I found it way to basic when compared with the likes of the lotr games, no real combos or skill. I'm currently playing time splitters 2, I love how fun the game is, all the different multiplayer modes etc, never played the third one though. I have a Xbox controller that drifts like that. I've took it apart and cleaned it but hasn't solved the problem.

Yeah you're right mate. Ryse is pretty basic. I think I just really enjoyed the story and setting and killing everyone lol. As for the controller. My Xbox one has the new dashboard update recently. I put on quantum break the other night. And now the controller is working perfect. So weird lol.

I adored Quantum Break. Never quite understood why it was so disliked. The whole tv thing was way overblown as well. Which I think is partially Remedy’s fault. Their marketing lead you to believe it was going to be way more mixed then it actually is. The tv episodes within the game basically just act as longer cutscenes. Certainly not something you want in every game but as an experiment I thought the tv part was done pretty good and the game at large was amazing.

Quantum Break had a download for 4K cutscenes, buts it's like 70gb or something

Yeah I had to download it the other night. 83gb, ridiculous. Didn't get to play it untill the next day. This one of my biggest issues with modern gaming.
