How have I never heard of this? Opeth is my favorite band, and I like some Nightwish..... I like Evanescence more; this is more well composed than Nightwish or Evanescence. Instantly in love. Just randomly started playing after a Birthday Massacre song on YT for me. I'm only on track 2 and I already know this is going to be one of my favorite bands. Even some Dream Theater vibes. Just incredible.

god fucking DAMN they did a REALLY good job sounding like old-school evanescence. all the little vocal tricks, the simple, heavy bass lines, the symphonics, the chord progressions, even amys little signature vocal runs lmao AND the songs are unique. its like an extra evanescence/we are the fallen album 😂 this is fucking great

actually I don´t compare bands with bands, but in my opinion there´s soooo much Evanescence vibes in it. And even Evanescence is absolutely holy to me, End of the Dream is a great discovery :)

This is much more than an Evanescence clone. Obviously, there is a STRONG Evanescence influence here but I hear elements of Dream Theater-style Prog and even symphonic elements a la Nightwish here as well. The lead guitarist is amazing. Vocals are fantastic, thought the singer almost too heavily leans into the Amy Lee style and sound for a lot of this album. I feel I hear glimpses of her natural voice and what she would do if she didn't have Amy Lee as a direct influence. This I would rate much better than any Evanescence offshoots that everyone keeps mentioning (and I've heard We are The Fallen and others). Great album. Will look into other work from them for sure. This band has a great sense of melody. I really love that you can clearly hear what the bass is doing without it being overpowering, too. I like Evanescence and though comparisons are tiresome, you really can't blame anyone whose inclination is to do just that with End of The Dream. All in all, however, like I said at the top of this much too long comment lol, Exit Eden is SO much more than an Evanescence copycat as they incorporate different things into their sound that punch above Evanescence's weight class (don't hate me, Amy. I love your band, too lol).

since this is a cover band, (albeit a really good one) id suggest the original band "evanescence" and the offshoot band "we are the fallen" (we are the fallen are the original band members from evanescence that split off in the 2000s and made their own band)

This is Evanescence mixed with The Murder Of My Sweet. Their love child.

I have a funny feeling that vocals and instruments belong to two different albums :) It's not annoying, it creates a new quality, I like it. Anyway Nightwish should learn from them how to mix and master.

Damn the beginning of this album sounds way too much like the beginning of a change of seasons by dream theater. I have to skip it everytime because it annoys me so haha 😂
