Have used Swift VDI, SCROSS Diesel, Ford Figo 1st gen TDCI and now Freestyle TDCI. I would say Figo first gen is the best car so far and nothing can replace it specially with the hydraulic steering. It is an addiction.

Yes after using S-Cross Fiat 1.3 diesel, i couldn't easily accept xl6 and hence took Kia Carens diesel. Diesels are the best and gives a unique feel

Diesel engine should not stopped because it is best for mileage, petrol price is too high & it's mileage is below 16 km/ltr

Right said guys...No more handling cars are available in hatchback. Using freestyle TDCI and no replacement for this in same segment. Have driven Jeep Compass and felt the driving feel is same. I would say handling car is still available but we have to pay a premium and choose a different segment. Can't even imagine driving a petrol car for daily use..

Got a Fiat Punto 1.3 diesel... bought in 2016..still love it!

I suggest the following to my friends/family who ask my view when buying a car "What we wanted from a car is a good engine to pull efficiently, handling & being stable on road, AC to comfort, music to relax, rest all things are like mindset that popcorn is more important than the movie".. and when we have to accept the market and compromise at some point, its a feel of sivaji running back to his house and cry at those pillars in Padayappa movie... Diesel cars are disappearing only in small hatchbacks and sub 4 sedans. It's is not because of only bs6. When maruti left diesel everyone felt they are going to loose the market but they proved wrong brezza still sellls. Reasons are 1)huge number of car buyers are in urban traffic conditions. In today's age nobody wants turbo lag and sound even last week hyundai discontinued diesel i10/aura even buyers don't want them. 2) fuel price difference between diesel and petrol is less now. 3) tax issues the car has to be priced under 10lakhs exshowroom. Great example is amaze cvt a great car it costs 13.33 lakhs while same petrol cost 10.33. For 3lakhs you can never recover that cost for many users. 4) maruti knows the market they first removed ignis diese even before bs6 a great car but they felt with fuel efficient 1.2k series and smooth amt customers dint bother much abt diesel in it.

Bro today (20may2022) my xuv700 I took delivery from showroom.. Not even 50km driven.. While parking heavy smoke from engine side.. Coil burnt smell.. But amount of smoke is huge.. Want to address this issue to mahindra higher officials.. From middle class spent 20L..day 1 ..not even drove 50km..this issue makes me full worried..loosing sleep now

Yes Motowagon , Desiel engine are decreasing due to BS6 norms, Than most our public transport all Buses in country are desiel right is that also runing bs6 kfume norms, or govt applying rules to only for cars

I owned skoda fabia 1.6L petrol earlier. I used to fill the tank twice for up and down Chennai to Trichy trip. Now with Carens diesel I fill diesel only once and able to manage both up and down journey without refill. Diesel engine are awesome when it comes to fuel efficiency. I had drove more than 2Lakh km before replacing my skoda. Just thinking how much I could have saved if I had gone for Fabia Diesel. Anyways I have to console myself that learning comes with experience 😊

Fabia 1.6 was a pocket rocket.. But it needs big pockets to refill if you use it as a primary car with heavy running

Hi Team, Kindly share knowledge on DPF on diesel cars Do all diesel cars have DPF or it is implemented from BS6 ? How to manage DPF blockage issue on BS6 diesel cars? Difference between SCR and DPF and it’s use? Can we able to clean the DPF in home or by person without taking to service Center and it’s cost ? When DPF block happens, it is advised that we can still manage by running at 40km/hr to reach service station?

@asir Anna my opinion is As diesel leaves burnt ash as residue, larger vehicles recommended for highways and help the community to reduce throwing away ash in cities & residential However fun to drive always happens on highway though City drives are recommended to be gasoline considering to save our environment

A petrol how much ever serviced well will always drop mileage, my zen estilo 2009 16 valve model given only 11 as mileage.

I have a 1.4 tdci fiesta and I have found no replacement until this day for its handling, fuel efficiency & fun. . 1.4 tdci is probably the best & simplest diesel ever made in this country, it has no EGR cooler, No intercooler, SOHC setup, Not even a VGT turbo, very basic diesel architecture. . But damn this engine has 0 turbo lag. . I can't let this go at any cost! I may add another diesel but I'm never selling my fiesta ever! ❤️

I sold my punto 90 to buy a petrol SCross. Immediately very next day went back to dealer. Brought back my punto home. @motowagon knows it. One of the best decision in my life. 😂
