ENCOUNTERS with FERAL PEOPLE! 2 CHILLING encounters

Ойын-сауық

FERAL people are reported to live deep in the forests of North America. Today we will hear two CHILLING encounters, one from the Great Smoky Mountains, and one from the Pacific Crest Trail.
Story 1: While driving through the Great Smoky Mountains late one night, Jonathan has an ENCOUNTER with a FERAL child and a FERAL man.
Story 2: While hiking the Pacific Crest Trail in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest, Erin was approached in the camp but 4 FERAL people, and was forced to run for her life.
If you have had an encounter that you would like to share, please email me at thedarkwilderness@gmail.com

Hey guys! Thanks for watching. My apologies I missed my end scene where I thank everyone for watching and ask what your thoughts were. Joys of editing in the early hours of the morning. Let me know your thoughts on these encounters! Also, let me know your thoughts on the new intro. I’m still doing some polishing on it, but I hope you found it interesting!

To me, the feral people stories, for some reason, are much much more terrifying and surreal than the Sasquatch stories. Big Fella always seems scarier in theory, but ultimately way less malicious and shocking in the end. All and all, these feral people sound like a couple of real jerks.

I live in North Carolina and I used to deer hunt back in the mid/late 80s right after I got out of the military. I have hunted all over North Carolina. Never had anything really bad happen. I don't hunt any more, but if I go very far into the woods anywhere, I carry a pretty powerful pistol or revolver. You don't really know what you might run into. And I wouldn't be wasting ammo firing warning shots at trees if I DID get spooked by something. Glad these two folks got out of their situations alright.

I used to ride a 4 wheeler trail that was lined with stuffed animals that lined the trail. I was told to not go past those trees and if I see anyone in the woods, don't stop no matter what. I live in western North Carolina right on the Tennessee line..Tennessee is actually less than ½ mile on the mountain behind my house where the Appalachian Trail crosses through the Roan Highlands. I can track my family back to late 1700s right here in the area. I've heard stories of feral people from my grandparents but its been well over a hundred years ago. Now if anyone were living even in the most rural parts of places like Linville Gorge or the globe area around the backside of Grandfather Mountain people would knows about it. Just because it's mountains doesn't mean it's like Alaska or western Canada.

I'm just repeating the story. I went to my friend's home after the Thanksgiving dinner. His grandfather was there, and he wasn't the talking type. He sat there stiffly and ignored everyone. You had to choose between Football, family gossiping, loud kids, or gramps. We sat in the room with the grandfather. My friend's mother banned video games, so we talked. His grandfather was okay. He hated football and the family stuff was torture to him. He knew funny stories from childhood to the present. That was odd because he was stiff as a board. Anyways, the topic of hunting came up. His grandfather told us why he didn't hunt anymore. When he was young, hunting was his whole life. "Why would anyone do anything else." He used to think.. As a young man, he would sneak off and do a little out-of-season hunting. He worked at Alcoa aluminum company. After work, before it got too dark, he would go into the Adirondack State Park. He said, "I wanted to give things a little look-see." He wasn't married and lived alone, so wasn't accountable to anyone. It was just before winter. In the North Country, winter is long and brutal. It was cold, but it had snowed a little dusting. Barely an inch. Perfect for seeing animal tracks and walking. He found a set of fresh deer tracks. The tracks were fresh, so he would follow them for a bit. As he walked, there were more tacks, and he thought "They must be ahead of me. I'll go a little farther." He let his excitement get the better of him. He walked further than he intended. Still, he was sure the deer were a litter further on. It was getting cold. The sky was blue but it was getting darker among the trees. He was thinking of going back when he saw human footprints mixed in with the deer tracks. The footprints were small, so he thought "A child must be lost. Barefoot too." He was worried about the child. He picked up his pace and followed the footprints. . All he thought about was finding the child. He couldn't understand how a child could be out in the park at this time with no shoes." He followed the track as fast as he could. He was bending over to see the track when he saw more footprints. These footprints were larger. He stood up and looked around. All around him were deer tracks and human footprints. He thought, that ain't right. He looked around himself into the trees. He was afraid he might actually see someone. All around him was dark among the trees. The sky was still light but had gone a dark blue. He thought, "It will be dark soon. No one knows I'm here." Then he had a worst thought. "Those footprints? They are hunting the deer too." He looked back the way he came. He had lost his bearing. All he could do was follow his track back and hope he got out of the woods before it was dark. He was afraid to look around because he might see something. The footprints were all around. He hoped he was walking away from whoever made those footprints. Then it was night, and saw nothing. He was walking hard but the cold came with the dark. He kept walking and tripping, but he got right up. He was afraid something might jump him. He was sure he was lost because it felt like his walk back took longer than he walked in. Then he just walked onto the road with no hint it was there. It took him a while to figure out which way his car was. When he got home, he had to take a warm bath to warm up. He told us, "I never go in the woods by myself anymore. I make sure I'm dressed right. I heard the story a few times. Later said, "I don't care for hunting much anymore. leastways, not alone." Once I asked him, "So you think people are out there living in the woods?" He said, "No. People can't live barefoot or otherwise in this part of the country. It's too cold for people who don't know how to wear shoes on their feet." Everyone hates this story. I'm repeating. I don't care either way.

@@darkwilderness2392 what a small world we live in. On another note there are in fact feral people in that neck of woods as well as in the southern tier. One that comes to mind is this guy that lives at the top of a mountain out by Olean. My friend lived.at the bottom of the mountain and we were warned not to venture up there as he like to shoot at trespassers. For context my friend lived in a trailer where they relied on propane and well water. So at night you could see lights coming from his living area on top of the mountain which added to the mystery of how it's even possible as this place you had to walk for at least an hour to get to it. Who actually owned the mountain no one really knew but this mountain man was very real and liked his solitude.
