It reminds me of Grimm’s and Hans Christian Andersen fairy tales. Passed down orally for ages before they were finally written down so lots of odd twists and turns 😂 I love it

Stories of the fae? Count me in! Be careful not to raise an army to look for fairy rings with your wonderous tales, they aren't as safe as cartoons make them seem. On a different note I once read a post where someone said ADHD could have been caused by a fae asking for your attention, it was in a dnd setting but I thought it would be funny to bring up

Exact translations of most Irish Mythology and folk stories have missing words, or a variety of possibilities of what the words are (as the original word has multiple meanings). Nearly all that are smoothly flowing are not exact translations. Reading exact translations can be quite interesting, I thoroughly doing so. 💚💜💚

well said! i also love reading the old folktales and stories but usually they are difficult to follow as a listener so a lot of re-writing has to be done 😅

I didn't care for how there was so much context missing from some of this. It was more like a catalog of actions rather than a story. Someone does something really strange and there's no explanation, just saying they did it.

i get you! to be fair those were the actual translations for these folktales when researching. totally agree though, it’s why now i do a mixture of original stories or if not completely original, at least a “re-imagining” of whichever folktale i’m focusing on. thanks for the feedback and for watching!
