Theres actually a theory floating around that Maribel still lives in the "Nursery" of the house because La Caita makes you a room based on your power, hence the glowing doors with there likeness on it. Since she has no power, she has no room. This may also be why shes so close to her youngest cousin, they shared a room for a while.... am iI adding salt to the wound

as a Colombian im glad they fixed her reaction to getting the gift basket, her mega awkward reaction from the first previews is a culturally American reaction, the way she reacts on this preview is much more natural to actual Colombian culture, its not exact but its way better!

Something I really like about this movie: different skin colors. I'm not talking about ethnicity, I mean the actual skin tones. A lot of studios in majority-white countries tend to portray POC characters with the exact same shade (even Coco falls victim to this). It's so much richer and more realistic when everyone's skin tones are slightly different (like how Bruno is paler due to presumably not spending nearly as much time in the sun as the rest and Antonio's skin is much darker than anyone else's)

So far I have a theory that Mirabel might be the one to lead the next generation of the Madrigal Family like her grandma is right now. It would explain why her connection to Casita is quite strong. Also, I believe the candle that brought Casita to life will play a big role throughout the story

I think she’ll find her gift by the end of the movie, but it would also be interesting if she didn't have one at all; she seems perfectly content the way she is.

I think her gift is being incredibly athletic did you see how she can jump really fast bro I can’t even jump once I would be out of breath in two seconds

Maybe Mirabel is connected to the casita since if you look at 6:53 , she is being helped by casita by tossing her down unlike her sister in 6:56 where she hit the floor after her gift didn't work.
