Tbh, when Sunoo came near the camera, my heart just starting beating fast!!

No matter how many times i've replayed it, i still can't hear it I even screen recorded this and played it slowly, i still couldn't hear it. Though this a serious issue for the company to speak up about. But as i said, i couldn't hear it at all. I hope this case gets cleared out soon :(

Heesung: skrt skrt ne- Jungwon: singing in korean Jungwon sang with a Korean word that starts with ga- unfortunately I think heeseung was trying to censor the word but the timing not on his side, srsly if you're an engene you'll know the difference in the voices

jungwon was singing the same song as heeseung but a different verse. what he sang was "personally I'm surprise you call me after the..." and then it faintly cuts off. when jungwon sang "(per)sonally" it overlapped with heeseung's voice in between which made it sound as if he said the word. at first it was kind of hard to distinguish them since both of their voices were so close to each other, but if you give a few listens, you can hear heeseung taking a pause and then cont. to sing/hum the song

The moment I saw Sunoo on my screen I realized my life is full of happiness

[As a black engene] - I didnt hear him say it. He stopped at "ni-" then right after jungwon started singing "personally" which is in the same line heesung was singing. so the "ni" and jungwon's "per' from personally might be mistaken as the n word. but if you listen closely the n word was not said. I absolutely hate when people jump to conclusions and spread hate. The company should put out a statement addressing the situation and take legal actions if anymore of this unnecessary hate happens.

Yeeeahhh, that's what i heard, try to raise the volume up and use earphones. You can hear him stop at ni-- and the voice on the backround sang which sounds like 'persona--' or what coz the voice toned down in that part and went back after that. Goshhh!! Some people just couldn't be neutral until otherwise proven.

as a fluent english speaker, i'm quite sure that two members speaking made it overlap to sound like the word. heesung also has jake beside him, (for those who don't know jakE is fluent in english) if heesung actually said it jake would've reacted differently. But i am not black, so im not sure if i should have a say in this. ENGENES please be concerened for the whole group and not just your bias. its only been a year since they've debuted and they are already having problems. do not send hate to the black engenes please.

From my point of view, I want to clarify that I do not defend them for the fact of loving them and forgiving them anything just for being them. I personally have seen the video several times, both in normal speed and in slow motion, and I've analyzed it, and I really don't think Heeseung said the n-word, here my justifications;; - I'm sure Heeseung is mature enough to know the meaning of the word, I at my 14 know what it means. - If he had said that, Jake would have reacted different, and especially if he had said that the editors would probably have cut that recording. You can believe whatever you want, defend them or not, but for me it's all a false rumor.

Yall omg i wanna clarify something here about this matter, at 10:56 when he was singing the part skrt skrt my ni- man DID NOT SAY THE N WORD, you can clearly hear that his voice was lowered after saying "my ni" and thats when jungwon sang with high pitch. No matter how many times you hear it you can clearly say he didn't say it. Im really sure about this guys belive me, and even "IF" you think its real that he said, did he say it as a insult to the black people? Heesung knows the meaning and he would know that its a offensive word. Please hear everything clearly before hatung on idols, its really sad and kind of stupid at the same time. Anyways lets wait for belift to release a official statement to put an end to all the rumors.

Hee has been studying English. When he covered Savage Love on tiktok, he censored the "F" word. He know the lyrics, he would've censored the "N" word too. Also, Jake was there. If Hee really said it, he would've reacted or something. But yes, I agree that Belift should release a statement to clarify this issue for every one's peace of mind.

No he said the first part of the word which is nig- then he continues that other part in a more quieter voice. You can hear it if you listen closely putting it in lower speed won’t help. Just replay it over and over again and you can head it under jakes voice, he said the N word.

@@kyu2722 yeah, i tried to replay it many times in a slower speed. kinda heard him say "ni", he stopped midway the word. then, i remembered that in s.love, he also said "faah" instead of "f*ck". i think he know the meaning of the word and tried to censor it. but, I'm not black so i don't know what black people felt because of this -if they're offended, it's totally understandable. belift should really stop their silence now and try to be a better company at handling issues for their artists and the fans as well.

they probably didn't know, he can be ignorant on that subject, I just knew about slurs until last year and I'm the age of jay, jake, he may have spoken and been ignorant, and that's the importance of educating yourself and this would be a good time for him to know that saying that word isn't right, belift is giving him the worst image by not releasing a statement and not being able to say anything. The f word its known as a bad word that as a public person (the kind of artist he is) he cant say it, the n word, by now we all should know but sadly not everybody is aware, to be clear I dont justify the fact that he said so

Jake was there too. Jake is an Australian and if he heard Hee say the n word he probably would've flinched or reacted and matter how many time I listen to it I cannot hear him say the n word.

ok imma now say on what I feel and think about this whole situation regarding from this vid, but first off, one thing I wasn't happy about was how some people in this fandom were so quick to degrade the issue and instead of listening, they took it as a chance to bash out and be racist towards black engenes. Like what is wrong with ya'll? Where did you leave your human decency and common sense at? ok so tbh with ya'll, I really don't think that heeseung is saying the n-word. I feel that ever since this started to buzz, many things started to happen all at once and was taken out of proportion, which got us to here. I responded to a comment underneath this vid and explained the part where some were speculating jungwon was singing a korean song was where it overlapped with heeseung's voice. Actually, jungwon was singing the same song as heeseung but it was a different verse. If you listen closely what he sang was "personally I'm surprise you call me after the..." and then it faintly cuts off. When jungwon sang "(per)sonally" it overlapped with heeseung's voice in between which made it sound as if he said the word (from what I'm seeing, it seems like ya'll misinterpreted the *per from personally to -ger). At first it was kind of hard to distinguish them since both of their voices were on top of each others, but if you give a few listens, you can hear heeseung taking a pause and then continues on singing/humming the song. At some point, I truly hope belift will make a statement on this and also giving heeseung the opportunity to explain himself. (and to clear things up, yes I'm a black engene)

Heeseung didn’t say the n word because we can hear at 10:53 that jungwon is also singing "love galore” not "neul saraghae” but he sings “ personally I’m surprised you called me after “ and if you slowed it down you will clearly hear it. At first I was also thought that he was saying the n word but after I realised that he stopped at ni- and then it’s jungwon singing “personally-“. And just in case, I’am black.

I listened to this over and over bc I heard this happened. I don't hear him say it. I asked a couple of my black friends and they said they don't hear anything like that either after they listened quite a few times. It's terrible that their reputation was put through this and people were demanding an apology from BeLift and Heeseung when there's nothing to apologize for 😢 it's the toxic and mean fans that are being horrible to others that should be the one apologizing. This wasn't BeLift or Enhypen's mistake. Fan or fans made a mistake because they didn't hear the correct audio and jumped to conclusions. Also there's 2 voices singing. Jake tells Heeseung to come over and he does (he's not singing then) when he does the other singing voice is going.

I don't think Hee said that, the staff is not stupid, if she had said that they wouldn't have put that shot on. If you put it in slow speed you will be able to hear well what he says

However this is a very serious issue that their company needs to address or else it’ll just blow up even bigger then it is right now. i fully support the black engenes and what their pov is on this whole situation, but in my opinion i don’t see heeseungs mouth moving especially towards the end of the audio when he is slightly shown in the camera with jake in the frame. the timing just doesn’t match. although many are making claims that that is what a member said, it’s not right for us (non black engene) to put input in saying that they can’t feel certain emotions on the matter. any slur is not okay. but we should definitely not send any threats (especially harmful ones) or try and “cancel” any of them with the cancel culture that has been so relevant these days. we can keep asking belift for a statement for confirmation but we shouldn’t assume or jump to certain conclusions just because we think we heard something. i believe that the members of enhypen are amazing people and really doubt that any of them would’ve said an offensive slur. and i get it, “how would you know, you don’t know them” well i am judging them on their personality and character so far.

Based on Heeseung’s personality he can easily apologize and show a better him in the future, but belift make him look like a careless person while refusing to send a statement or an apology letter (my opinion), I’m trusting him to be better person but I’m not assuming or judging, it’s just trusting. Since the beginning of their career, it’s obvious how caring and loving he is, trying to make people around him feel comfortable enough, I know he should be hold accountable IF he said it, but cancelling him/them is not a way to make someone feel guilty, I’m sure just knowing he hurt people feeling’s might make him feel bad. + Black engene please take care of yourselves, you don’t deserve this toxic fandom hurtful words. Nah Heeseung didn't say slur word. He stop before and swiched to na~na. There was another song sang in korean on background. Jungwon that sang in korean earlier on clip Niki's & Jake talking. Which continues to Heeseung & Jake clip.

Please stop putting that on him. That's a huge problem in this Enhypen fanbase. Yes most of the time he is all those things. The other members have called him their sunshine but he also has days where's he's not smiling. He might not be feeling well, might be sad or upset at something or maybe he just doesn't feel like smiling or look cheerful that day. What happens when Sunoo has one of those days? Immediately fans start worrying or speculating about him not being okay or assuming he's being mistreated by the other members when Sunoo himself said he isn't always laughing and smiling. I think people have put that image on him that's hard to maintain because he's human with a wide range of feelings and emotions and shouldn't have to be made to feel that he always has to be bright, cheerful and smiley or else fans freak out. Just leave him room to be himself without using descriptions that paint him in a box.

I have no idea why people miss heard anything here May be thats the biggest reason to PUT ON SUBTITLES :)

They would've deleted this video or remove the clip already if H33 actually said it. The fact that its it's still here speaks volume imo. And it's always the other fandom that's barking so loudly and some Engenes🧐

I do hope that BeLift does make a statement about this, because whether or not Heeseung had said the n-word or if it was someone else, BeLift needs to clarify what actually happened. For me, I don’t really hear it but I am also not going to doubt those who did. If anything, I’m just mad that the people who were editing this video didn’t caught what was being said in the background. Like, yes, if Heeseung had actually said it then he should apologize and all of Enhypen should learn from not saying that regardless of whether they were just singing what was on the lyrics of the song. But I can’t believe that the editors of this video didn’t catch that word, and I don’t know, edit it out? Even if it was the actual Korean term and it was Jungwon who was singing that alongside the overlapping, the staff should’ve known what reaction the public would have if they heard that world and target this young group! Someone should’ve stopped Heeseung from singing that song if it was him doing so, tell them to do a re-take, or again, edited that part out and teach the boys what they should or shouldn’t be saying. Gosh, I would really hate for something like this to be the downfall of their growing careers because it doesn’t seem to be intended badly (after all, Heeseung singing that song from SZA, it could be assumed that he liked the song or even her as an artist), so it could genuinely be an honest mistake on his part. But being held accountable is still a must and even if it wasn’t any of the members who actually singing that or if it wasn’t actually the n-word, BeLift needs to speak up and they have to do it SOON.

I dont rlly know like i played that part over and over now and i can't hear any N word, the only thing that i heard was Jungwon overlapping and saying Nae and then Heeseung started humming. You can't really blame the boys without confirming if they rlly did say it cuz there's words in korean that sounds like the N word. Be:Lift should really make a statement to protect the boys, their growth of success is no joke and then just because of misunderstandings their gonna fall. Like remember the misunderstanding abt Sunoo, there was some misunderstandings with the translations and toxic solo stans took that as a chance to attack the other members.

If hee did say it then jake would've acted differently 😭😭 or jay as both are fluent in English.

What I hear: Heeseung singing skrrt skrrt then he stops singing and you hear someone’s voice in the background. Then Heeseung- just before he gets interviewed by Jake is just humming and then gets interrupted. The voice that is heard is clearly in the background and could not by any chance be either Heeseung or Jake. I’d say it’s simply an overlap but this depends on what you hear yourself.

I saw a few fans throwing hate to a black person bc he/she said that they didn't hear anything. I'm an Afro Latina and I didn't hear the n word, I heard the person stop singing on "ne", and the person kept singing when Heeseung was already closed to Jake, so I guess it wasn't him

It's obviously a serious matter when a slur is used, and the situation needs to be clarified. However when I play the four second clip on the slowest speed, I can hear someone singing skrrt skrrt on my ni- the person stopped themselves, then there's a microscopic stop, before someone else starts singing, my ears are very sensitive to sound and I do have pretty good hearing, however the reason I think some people hear the slur and other don't hear it, is because our brains are constantly looking for words we know and understand. So when we hear something that sounds alike to something we know, we our brains can fill in sounds. Almost like how our brains cancel out the nose from our sight, or like how we can see faces on non living things. Because the brain constantly looks and listens for familiar objects and sounds. I remember when I first started getting into K-pop I heard Good Boy, and at one point where they say something that is romanised to nikka, I heard the slur, and was wery confused. This is not to say that it wasn't said, we don't have 100% proof, and therefore should not jump to conclusions. So instead of jumping to a conclusion, ask for clarification and education.

TL/DR: Don't make any assumptions, but rather ask for clarification, and that everyone gets properly educated on the matter. And if you really want to stop these things from happening in the future, educate those around you, and aske that they spread the education further. Because education leads to understanding, which leads to a better place to be for everyone.

ok i slowed the video in the part were heeseung got the whole n-word thing going and first i don think he is singing cause i slowed it we can see his mouth wasnt open and neither was it when jake pulled him and he was on his phone but whoever it was heeseung a member or Gosh even the i-land ghost idc who it was...they did not finish the n-word it was only like "ni-" and in the other part someone else singing i guess jungwon also sings along so when u combine both them singing it might sound like hee was saying it but he wasn't and he didnt. This is just my opinion on this and i totally understand if u have different perspective on this .

Here is what I think.. ( Yes i am black) The song is obviously Love Galore by Sza. Jungwon singing something in the back a korean song. Someone else (we do not certainly know if it is one of the enhypen members since there is multiple people in the room) I can say it isn't Heesung because when he came back in frame, his mouth wasn't moving and the person is still singing. That is too light of a tone to be Jay. As soon as the "Skkrt Skkrt on N------ part came up it seems like the person almost said it but stopped themself and you hear Jungwon singing "Naega Saranghae" and I can hear the person saying Skkrt again but they didn't say the word. For now, since there is still a lot of confusion, lets wait for the company to confirm what actually happened. (Edit) Also don't forget that in the song "Skrt Skrt on bi----- Is also a line." And the melody before the skrt skrt part sounded like the chorus where she doesnt say it after that.
