Thanks Patrick. I'm getting to all of this a little bit late in life. I've only used programs such as Final Cut, and Adobe Premier as a complete amateur, and admired others people work. I did it as a hobby, for fun and family. I started to get into Lightroom, but then ran out of time so to speak. Retired now, etc., I still want to play around with this. I did not know this software until watching this, so thanks! I did look up the pricing, and I'll probably wait awhile at least. But it was great to watch you play with it.
Was wondering what the Twitter and IG posts were leading to… this plug-in is something I can definitely get on board with. Stellar work as always dude

If you told me the short film in the beginning was actually shot on film, I would have believed you! It’s a bummer they don’t have Windows support yet. However, even if they did, it might be a little while before I buy a license 😅 Editing photos inside of resolve is an interesting idea, never really thought of it. It makes sense though if you want to colour match jpgs with video. I enjoyed this longer video, well done :)
0:00 I grew up tobogganing on that hill, ice skating on the ourdoor rink (not there now) and playing hockey in that Arena across the street. The style of the video is my childhood and I don't even know it. FilmBox is pretty powerful little tool there, I love that 16mm look. Watching digital films for so long, then going back to the older classics (35 stuff) and seeing the grain patterns is crazy to think that was normal at the time. Going to watch the extended for more childhood. Nice video dude!

This plugin looks legit. I've been tinkering around with the demo version, and it makes a compelling case. It seems weird how little coverage there is on it on KZread and elsewhere. I assume it's simply that they aren't flinging codes all over the place to drum up interest. I kinda respect it, because there aren't a million suspicious puff pieces about it, like you get with so many gear and software launches. I don't know where I'm going with this, but it's making me reflect on the weird state of marketing (yuck) these days. Anyway, great video.

Hey! I have found your channel through the Panasonic gh5 (ii) and s5 test. My question would be which camera would you recommend for low light jobs? I would mostly use it in a theater and stage enviroment, thats why i need the better low light capabilities then usual. My afraid is that i dont have more money then the s5 with the kit lens and i dont know if that is going to be enough or i could do better for the price with the gh5 and special lenses. Thanks for the help!
@impatrickt
2 жыл бұрын
kit lens will be rough on the S5 in low light. even with the dual ISO that f3.5/f5.6 is going to stress it out. GH5 is atrocious in low light. Your best bet is to save up a bit and get a 24-70 f2.8 for the S5 at least.

the general rule is export in a higher quality than the quality you imported. so if you want to keep it easy just export ProRes 422 LT or HQ from FCPX. then import that into Resolve. and you're exporting the log footage (not color graded) - if you want titles etc you should do them in resolve otherwise filmbox will be applied to the graphics. you could bring the whole project over with XML but I find that too complicated and cumbersome.
