EMS is the career field I've opted for after almost 4 years of doing fire from explorer to now. Not fire 1 but I thought I would. I didn't. Anyways just did my ride time yesterday for EMT class. Made 9 calls from 7am to 7pm. It's when I realized this is something I definitely want to pursue further to a degree

Can say now working as an EMT, I love my job but I’m deciding to further purse conservation law enforcement, in hopes of being a conservation officer/game warden.

@@znovosad555 Haha welcome brother. I was a 5 year explorer, captain and post advisor. As soon as I turned 18 I started my employment with a full time dept. I'm now 19 and start paramedic school soon after close to 2 years running as an advanced EMT. I'm also look towards the law enforcement field but staying employed still as medic.

I’m 15 in Cali and took a pre EMT class this year I got a A that shit made me want to become a EMT even if I don’t end up working as one I’m definitely going LEO/EMS

Grateful every day for our nations First Responders. I hear a siren or our Life Flight helo....I whisper a prayer for the responders and the patients....I don't know if prayer "helps" but it doesn't cost a thing to do and certainly doesn't harm anyone. Be safe, talk to each other and seek counseling for your grief, be blessed and Thank God for compassionate humans like y'all.

I most definitely care.. Thank You Paramedics and a Big Thank You to our Care Flight Team.. Y'all have saved many lives .

TO sum up working in EMS/Fire or even first response in general. It is the most terrifying, stressful, irritating, depressing, hard, discouraging job out there. But with that, it is the most satisfying, gratifying, and best job that I could imagine. Take the bad with the good. There are days that will seem like you don't do a damn thing except sit on your ass but then there are days where you are doing anything and everything to save people and the look of comfort on those people's faces, the look of relief when you show up is what makes it all worth it.

First Responders and ems are the guardian angels...they are the ones who give us golden chance to survive❤❤❤❤

My favourite tribute for EMS so far.

I have Epilepsy and EDS and I have had three seizures at my work and one at my home and EMT had to take me to the hospital, luckily when I dislocated my shoulder no one had to take me to the hospital . But I thank God for them!

These folks like all first responders and our military are the true selfless heroes that make the real difference when our backs are up against the wall. They do it with far less pay then their true value and with the current climate in our country that all taxes are bad and the continued cutting of budgets for emergency services, it's a wonder that people still line up for these jobs. I know nobody does this job for the income but there comes a point when you have to provide for your family. Americans more and more are wanting champagne service at budget beer prices. That is until it's their life or someone they care about that is on the gurney.... Kudos to you all, keep up the great work and stay safe......

My mom’s Emt partner and family friend died of cancer this morning! 😭 I MISS HIM SO MUCH !! HE WAS A 2nd Dad to me ! We had good times and I’ll always remember those ! But I’ll miss having more ! R.I.P captain ! 😭🤧🙏🏻🇺🇸 I made a promise to be a first responder before you passed away and I’ll complete this promise! NO ONE WILL STOP ME !

Because although you think you are "smart" you are not trained and that training is vital to your safety as well as your whole brother/sisterhood safety. The victims require the training you need in order for you to be of value and for everyone around you to know they can depend on you. In high stress, panic type, crucial decision making moments....your training will kick in and allow you to function with no thoughts required...it will be as automatic and predictable as breathing or your heartbeating. The fact that you don't see extreme training as necessary...scares the hell out of me.

*A* not an so that''s your first problem. Do you realize the point of EMS is to do no harm? Smart has nothing to do with it. The state certifies stuff for a reason. "Smart about that stuff" is how you kill people. Get your EMT cert, then figure out what you want to do. You sound like that kid that says "you're disrespecting a future US Army Soldier."
