When I found an info about PTSD not only used in military, but with families and traumas - it gave me half of tools almost. And so called new german medicine and doctor, who proved traumas unhealed lead to cancer of specific organs - gave me the rest with prayers as a method of theory-practice implementation of only one kind. The rest is done probably somewhere over... In the whirlpool of life it is sometimes felt as... Love is all around... Cognitivve dissonance occurs only when a thought comes.. that in love should be no such shocks...

One person who did help me out once, in a d.v.-generated situation, was my grandmother (mom's mom). I explained my situation/predicament to her. Without hesitating (or shaming, blaming or scolding), she offered some much needed financial assistance. She was a kind, loving, compassionate & generous woman. Thank you, Grandma. 🙏🙏🤍🌹

One other person who helped out me & my children was my late brother-in-law (brother of my late ex-husband, 2nd). He didn't like to talk about it. But he knew that something wasn't right with his brother/my husband. After one particularly bad episode, my brother-in-law invited my children & me to stay at his house. We only went there that one time. Stayed for a week or so. It was such a relief to feel safe, at least for awhile. And it was a really good feeling to feel like someone actually cared about us. That was my brother-in-law who, later on, I (& my husband) took care of, when he went into home-based hospice care. Thank you, Yerby. 🙏🙏🩵🩵 Love you lots. 🎣💚🎣

Because of my late 2nd husband's workplace connections [he worked for a non-profit community services agency], he was familiar with the only domestic violence shelter in the city. He knew the people who ran that program. *And* he knew the *location* of the designated "safe house." Because of this fact, for all of the time that we lived in that city, I was not able to use that shelter as a resource. In other words, I couldn't call their hotline and I/we definitely could not go to their shelter/safe house, since husband knew its location. These facts greatly increased the level of being isolated and trapped in a very dangerous & volatile situation.
