Empress Elisabeth Monument at the Volksgarten, Vienna. A marble monument to Empress Elisabeth by Hans Bitterlich (based on designs by Friedrich Ohmann (Empress Elisabeth Fountain); architecture by Eduard Hauser), built 1904-1907 (unveiled on June 4, 1907 in the presence of the emperor, with Greek-dressed girls scattering roses); Memorial for the wife of Franz Joseph I, who fell victim to an assassination attempt in Geneva on September 10, 1898.
