My terms and condition only state, hours, pay, allowances and leave. There is no mention of other internal policies. Can I challenge application of certain policy being unfair that they have applied to me (also applied to other employees)? as not in terms and conditions or not. Thank you

I signed an employment agreement but i am 1099. The title of the agreement is literally employment agreement, and mentions nothing about a 1099. Is this legally acceptable?

If I have a contract with with a contractor company and They send me to work in another place to receive order’s we’re the contractor company send me the question is who is my employer if I work two months in that place 1 or 2

I signed a clause where the employer can use me to do other work outside me normal duties. My employer gave me extra work to do which relieved my co-workers from his job and it was added to mine. Is that legal to do?

It is most important that the employee sign an employment contract. The contract would likely not be rendered void if the employer did not sign.

If a job is effecting my health physically and mentally and I need to quit and they are forcing me to pay money back am I protected?

Great question. In Canada, if you are forced to quit because the work environment has become toxic or impossible to function in, and your employer has failed or refused to take steps to make it a safe place to work, you have rights. You can claim constructive dismissal to get full severance pay - as much as 24 months' pay, and potentially human rights damages, depending on the circumstances. If you work in Ontario, Alberta or B.C., and this has happened to you, contact our employment law team immediately at 1-855-821-5900. Great question. This content only applies to non-unionized employees in Canada. Unionized employees are subject to the collective bargaining agreement that is decided upon by their employer and union.
