Thank You Terry for another fun and very informative video . I am from Brooklyn and now live in Fla. But visiting the Empire State Building was as awesome as I can remember as a kid . Truly wonderful history. Love the way they present the historical facts of building this symbol of the future in the 30’s after the depression. Onward and upward my friend . Keep doing what you do . Well done ! 😘

Between all the toilets in the Empire State Building, a ton of turds are passing by everywhere in the massive plumbing of pipes. Maybe the pipes are in Art Deco as well.😂😂😂

Born and raised in The Bronx, lived in midtown Manhattan in the early 70s. Although I was up to the top of the old WTC twice, I never got around to going up to the top of the ESB. I did see the lobby and was inside the elevators a few times for business purposes. Thanks for the really good tour, speaking with the local nurse and coaxing the uniformed workers to share their stories. Left NY 40 years ago, no regrets... Chuck in Northern New England

It was a high ranking military officer whom disobeyed ATC - Air Traffic Control orders to not land because he did not get clearance for landing, so he still took off to complete his military job d/t low visibility he got lost and once he was able to see he was flying towards the empire State’s building. He tried to turn to the left, but it was too late and crashed into the building. 7 or 10 people lost their lives because of him disobeying ATC orders. It only took 3 month’s to repair the floor and the penthouse that the elevator dropped into from the ✈️ crashing into it. I do a lot of JFK, LGA and Newark FA ✈️ trips. Great job exploring! 🙌👍🙌

A great building but it's a shame that private businesses have cashed in way beyond reason. I visited it in the 70s and it was free then it might have been three or four dollars a ticket in the 80s. The inflation rate means that ticket should cost may $10 or $12 but it's $45. The same with college costs, raised manyfold the rate of inflation with the top making enormous profits. The Metropolitan Museum of Art was always pay whatever you wish, not any more. There's a sucker born every minute. Don't you realize you're being fleeced??

Last time I went up the ESB was back in 2012. What a beautiful building. I love tall buildings. NY and Chicago are my top favorites when it comes to tall skyscrapers. They just don't build classics like that anymore. Little known fact is that the Indiana Lime stone you see covering the exterior of ESB was quarried from a famous quarry known as "Empire Quarry" located in Bedford,Indiana southwest of Indianapolis. Today, the huge giant crater in the ground is still there to this day. Around 19,000 tons of limestone used in constructing the Empire State Building. A lot of the cut stone was sent by rail to NYC and most of the steel came from Pennsylvania as they constructed the building with these materials until completion in 1931 just shortly after the Great Depression started. The ESB was also from the same Bedford Quarry were the Washington DC's Pentagon, Lincoln, and Jefferson Memorial were also quarried from.

Absolutely! One of the obvious requirements for that job was no fear of heights lol. That shot of them eating lunch on the girder is a classic.

@@BarefootVlogger I respect heights but not fear. I use to get adrenaline from the crazy stuff I did in scaffolding an building bridges. Now I’m just a ole lady with a baby doggie lol 😝

Employee in the observation deck needs to be fired. I just work here this is nothing special and that thingy on top of the building I’m not quite sure just some tv stuff or something. What if that was your only trip there and you are talking to a clown like that on the most iconic building in America. Send that guy back to Walmart

It is sad that we don't make buildings like this in America, anymore. We have become a lazy and stagnant society. We don't plant metaphorical trees for future generations anymore. All our society cares about is extracting as much as we can from the system.

We do build incredible things now. They’re called aircraft carriers. All our best efforts are now spent on the military, exactly how the lobbyists want it.
