Nice review 🙌 something you’re really missing out on as an audio book reader though is the illustrations, they’re magnificent and really bring the characters and world to life. Also not sure what was so unclear about the ending, but the illustrations do make what happened clearer.

So glad you loved Empire of the Damned! Book 1 is one of my favourite books of all time, and I have such high hopes as I dive into this!

I loved the book so much, but not the ending. I felt like the book should be shorter. I loved the relationships and battles in this book. And that we got to step into the world of the vampires. And the Aaron becoming a cold blood and the dynamic of Phoebie and Gabe. The illustrations just made me so happy. Do you think these are Jay Kristoff's best books (I haven't read any of his other books)? PS I loved this video 💛

I agree the characters and their dynamics plus the world are the strongest aspects of the story, I don’t know if I’d want it shorter myself. I think they are the best of his, though i thoroughly enjoyed Nevernight. My Dad really liked The Lotus War and my friend likes all his YA works, I’m sure it’s all great! Thanks!

Edgy in a medieval/gothic world dominated by warring vampires where everyone is treated like cattle? I mean can you blame them? All the main characters are traveling along a double edged sword where one small mistake means your death. Edgy? Pffft that’s like saying water is wet, the sky is blue, and that politicians are crooked 😂…..DUH! But yeah I agree with everything said. The relationship between Dior and Gabe is so good that it made it a bit underwhelming when they were going solo. Kristoff made me like vampires again and cannot wait for the 3rd book!

Yea when they were apart that was the weakest part of the book for me too, I need Gabe on every page 😅😅😅

I loooooved the ecosystem created by the phenomenon (no spoilers 😛) in the first book. Damien Lynch narrates but it looks like thet've added a female voice so that's exciting 🤓🙌🏼

The worldbuilding is incredible! And the way it weaves into the plot 😍 What a second narrator? What does that mean ? 😅😅😅 I’m a big Damien Lynch fan he was made for this job!

Hell yeah! It’s incredible if you like heavy prose and profanity with a decent dose of edginess 😅 I’m on hold for Dandelion Dynasty at my library
