Maybe add alternate endings for the other 2 factions as well. Harkenon is the only one with a branching path.

This was a beautiful game. Really ahead of it's time.

Aaah, they just don't make them like they used to... I love this game's cutscenes. Everyone is acting like a large ham for sure, but that just makes it funnier to watch. Harkonnen cutscene, especially, are epic.

Лучшая в мире стратегия🙂. Играл на сеге в дюну, но когда купил эту в 2001году на пк, то уже не смог оторваться. Больше всего нравятся ордосы со своими технологиями, но у харконненов музыка божественна. Прошёл её вдоль и поперёк всеми домами по несколько раз. Жаль такого больше не делают. До сих пор смотрится красиво. И ей не нужна русская озвучка. В оригинале все шикарно и понятно.

Even now it looks awesome! I haven't seen any strategy game worth such marvelous physics: burning infantry, snipe shots and etc.

I love the way that Gunseng reacts to the grave news of the Harkonnen Mentat! So delightfully distinct from the Atreides or Ordos here.

I just love the names of the houses, rolls off the tongue so smooth. Harkonen, Ordos, Atreides

This blows the putrid 2000 Sci-Fi Channel's miniseries, out of existence!!!!! Sci -Fi Channel was good, only it's first few years.

.......I build 10 refineries, mass spam devastators plus massive defense build and it all depends on mass devastator droppage while holding the line. Needless to say, thr amount of enemies attack is crazy af X.X

I used the carryall cheese for this level, you see you can carry your devastators by zigzagging around their base while staying out of reach of everything and just drop them before they realise what happened

epic game. I remember turtling in every mission and using all the spice on the map. When i had to defend the same province - i had no spice to harvest :D

Loved this game as a kid, replayed it over and over and over all factions. The cinematic scenes were so good.

I went back through each one to give you a thumbs up. I enjoyed each one overall and thank you for posting these. They were better than the rest out there... I got my step-son hooked on Dune back in the 90's when he was around 15. He had recently asked me about Dune and if I was able to get it working again, to which I replied no. Then I came across your post... It was one of the middle ones; I unplugged this and carried it into the living room for him to see again. He really enjoyed it. He is in his 30's now, with wife and child. I hope to get a laptop with old windows and install the game again. If it works I hope to get him one too, load it and send it to him when he gets through all his retraining in the Army. He re-enlisted and leaves Monday. So thanks again.

Very interesting story! You actually don't need an old Windows to play this game. I played on Win 10. I bought this game many years ago, it was 4 CD's pack, one installation cd and three for each campaign. Good luck to your son in retraining in the army. Thanks for watching!

Thank you for the reply. I have 4 sets of the game, with 4 different install discs and 4 different keys. It will read the cd, I can explore the cd and see all the files. When I hit install, the disc spins up as to install, then it stops, just like so many others are experiencing... I would watch additional games if you loaded them; using engineers to capture other enemy buildings, using their combined abilities to build, harvest, defend and oppose other houses in your quest to wipe out others and dominate the entire map you are on. I also liked using the different turrets from each house on my base and the subsequent bases I conquered. Again, Thanks for your uploads,Stephen

I was a bit rusty today when I headed for the command prompt. I was bound and determined to get this program to install. Attempting to "dos it," I still failed to get it to perform, install, setup, or autorun... Having ( 4 ) Legal copies, having tried each install disc. :) Ordered cheap refurbished, 32 bit XP computer. I will be playing "Dune 2000 and Emperor Battle for Dune soon enough. lol... I even had another "Now Generation PC'r," come over and give it a try. He was shocked at all my attempts. The only other thing he came up with was the possibility of my antivirus was blocking / preventing the install. So I blew it out and tried again... Same result. Stay tuned! lol...

Same but it was Dune 2000 for me. I immediately recognize it as being similar to Command and Conquer. Little did I know that Command and Conquer actually spun off from Dune 2.

I played as atreides. Mass produced mongoose walker vehicles and just walked to the worm. Mongoose is rather OP in large numbers. You just give them order to move somewhere and they destroy everything on the move. Damage and range of their missiles is somewhat OP in my opinion.

Hmm, Harkonnen supremacy or eternal slavery, what's the difference again?

Epic game and i played Dune 1 some RPG/TBS game, then Dune 2 fully RTS, both on the amiga 500, afterwards Dune 2000 and Dune Emperor on PC, i'm missing those games, if i would win a huge lottery, i would go to EA ( Omg why not Westwood anymore ), but i would spend some millions to get them to make a new one and supervise the process, oldschool based abit like SC2, but it will only stay as a dream unfortunately.. So gents cheer for me to win the lottery !! ;)

Excellent game, I've beaten it as the Atreides...I wish there had been an alternate final mission/boss/ending depending on if you'd allied with the Tleilaxu or Ix though, it would've given the game FAR more replay value. Someone really ought to update the game in this manner, to be able to fight the Ixians and a rebuilt backup of Omnius as an alternate final mission if you'd chosen to ally with the Tleilaxu instead of the Ixians.

The mission is a lot easier if you place Cobras on the ridge where you've destroyed Tleilaxu cannons at the very beginning. Enemies just mill aimlessly at the ridge's feet, unable to do anything. Up there Cobras are only vulnerable to Minotaurs, but unless there're 3-4 of them it's usually not a problem. Giuld tanks can also teleport there on occasion, so a few Devastators may be needed to fend them off.

I always capture the ordos factory to the west and start building Kobras for that same reason. You could also use inkvine catapults to some extent. And I place tanks on both ridges.

Как-то слишком легко в твоей версии. Ни в коем случае не умаляя проделанной работы, но я вчера на самом высоком уровне сложности на этой миссии запоролся именно за харконненов. После того, как проатакует ордос, начинается бесконечный ручеек из мангустов и минотавров, не дают ни секунды передышки. Мало того, еще удар сокола комп делает. В разных репаках играется по-разному. Например, в одном репаке, который разбит на образы дисков, там и играется таким образом (без секунды передышки), в другом, где все диски объединены в один образ, играется как в твоей версии. Но повторю еще раз: в любом случае, спасибо за проделанную работу!

По поводу захвата маленькой базы ородосов - абсолютно согласен! НО!!! Перед тем как ты её захватишь (ты её захватывал после того, как он провел на тебя атаку, так?) на тебя стабильно 3 раза комп сделает "Удар Сокола". "Лучше не строить outpost. Из-за него таймер начинается раньше, и враг строит супероружие". А вот этого вообще не знал! Спасибо за инфу. Тогда действительно в чем-то проще становится. Я-то просто застраиваюсь в порядке: ветряк, харвестер со зданием переработки спайса. ветряк, outpost, казармы, ветряк, завод. Видимо поэтому комп строил супероружие очень рано. Спасибо за ответ!

Вот только вчера пробовал играть за харконненов по твоей рекомендации без аутпоста. Так нет же! Построил дворец через 10-15 минут с начала миссии и начал наносить по мне удары сокола ДО нападения нижней базы ордосов! Так-то! Вот еще: у меня версия 1.09. У тебя, думаю, 1.08.

попробуй строить только те же здания, что и я. У меня тоже самая последняя версия была. Первый раз когда я проходил, враг также использовал сокола. Я застроил базу стеной, и отправил туда много юнитов, чтобы они не уезжали за пределы карты. Есть ещё триггер, если ты начинаешь атаковать врага в самом начале игры, то таймер начнётся раньше и враг строит супероружие. Лучше по началу миссии не выходить в атаку.

I never was able to finish this game as one of the discs broke, no thanks to my cd driver.

Where do I get this game? It's almost impossible to get through conventional channels.

This game is WAY better, having completely unique unit sets for each faction, and other sub-houses for you to ally with 2 or 3 of in order to gain special units!

@@Tentacl well I used my old windows XP PC just to play ONE game every other year. But my gaming PC has a DVD drive. I just beat the harkonnen campaign the other day. There's games, especially EA games, that will never get rereleased again.

На какой версии игры ты проходил это? И да: почему не пользуешься вращением камеры? Ведь это ПОЛНОСТЬЮ трёх-мерная стратегия; зажимаешь одновременно левую и правую кнопки мыши - и вращаешь камеру как тебе угодно! А то ведь не всегда в удобном положении бывает каморка висит!

Я помню, что я ставил последний официальный патч. Я В КУРСЕ, но мне просто не нужно было вертеть обзор в этой миссии 😀 хотя иногда я меняю вид. Ты можешь увидеть это в других миссиях.

This game was released in 2001, so 1280x960 is the highest game resolution. There is no way to increase the resolution for modern widescreen monitors.

@@hdw Thats not true. I remember very much playing this on higher resolution. The game should give you options for more 4:3 resolutions. I remember some time back I had the same problem and after I did something game was giving me more resolutions to choose from. @@CliffuckingBooth My previous comment was 100% true, and I know about this site www.wsgf.org/dr/emperor-battle-dune very long time. Look carefully at the 16:9 screenshot. As you can see, the credits tab and the map are cropped. You can only scale the 1280x960 resolution to preferable for yours, but the textures, units, and buildings will be ugly stretched, and it will still be 1280x960 in-game resolution.

I would like to see a sequel to this :3

I once won this mission with the help of two things - air defense platforms and circular saws.

Almost good Dune version, neutral Freeman was cool ^^

I beat this level in like 10 minutes. The best way to beat this map is to attack the worm ASAP. To do this successfully, you need about 5 Devastators and 5 Advanced Carryalls. When you have them, simply pick up the Devastators and move them across the map behind the worm. Then let the Devastators rip it apart in no time. This will save you a lot of time and energy that would otherwise just be wasted because this level can be really frustrating. Especially with the slow and clumsy Harkonnen units, this level takes forever to beat without my strategy.

This is not a cheat. Use a Projector tank to remove the leech larva by shooting at the infected tank.

@@antcow1239 It's one of the best units in the game as long as you have at leat 5 of them in close bunch. Great base/spice defense. Just like the german 88mm flak gun, you never know that it can be used to gib planes, tanks, buildings and people.

Not really, freeman fedaykin is invisible and has sonic and knife attack that's easy to slain a sardaukar also,.. actually I remember I've finished this mission on hard with fast built several fedaykin freemen, and send directly on the worm in less than 10 minutes :)

I believe you didnt use the real strength of the harkonnen. The gun platform spam. Pretty much the most cost effective punch in game. total area control, very sturdy unless enemy spams all AA which AI never does. Everything else is just redundant when you have about 5-10 gun platforms. Leave 5 to guard your spots and spice production and its easy win.

The enemy attacks are much smaller than what I'm currently facing on this mission - and I'm playing on normal.

​@@xxnoxx-xp5bl I'm calling BS your BS comment. First, building a second refinery will trigger more aggressive attacks against you. Second, an unsuccessful attempt to destroy the worm will trigger a countdown and constant air attacks on your base. In addition, the countdown will start later if you do not build the outpost. @@hdw I was well aware of all of those circumstances. Even without a second refinery, I'm seeing larger attacks, at each side of the base at the same time. The attacks in this video seem pathetic. In fact, in my current save I've found that building a second refinery as the Harkonnen is the better option as the increased income allows for more income and the additional firepower you can afford makes dealing with the attacks much easier. And did you like your own comment!?

@@hdw I'm playing as Harkonnen, this is a Harkonnen video. Your Harkonnen video. That said, even the opening attacks in the mission seem a lot more significant than what appears here. Maybe I'm just unlucky, but I see stronger attacks from the outset, with drabs of smaller assaults until further large attacks. Well before the countdown.

HDW - Hard Difficulty Walkthrough ну лагает так, как будто это какая то очень требовательная игра. И лаги усиливаются, когда, например, я смотрю на базу или много войск на экране. На самых минимальных настройках фпс все равно проседает до 10. И я не знаю, как это исправить. Некоторые репаки лагают совсем чуть чуть меньше других, но это не особо заметно. Патчил до версии 1.09 и все равно.

As Harks or Art it was dead easy just defend and build loads of thopters or gunships and do a mad rush always worked

The Mentat spoke so slowly when Gunseng said he had 5 seconds to live. Perhaps the Mentat was messing with Gunseng?

The game is so slow... Even in x2.0 speed

It's hardest of 3 for me Problem with harkonnens is that they no way to repair, and their cost is still high, I have no resources to fight, they have no artillery, so I can't defend my base easily, I see no way how would they win in reality, they wouldve gone poor because their attack wasn't successful or because ordos blitzkrieg them in first days. It would be Ordos Vs Atreides rather than with harkonnens

Вместо захвата базы Ордос, ты можешь выставить защиту стеной из Fremen Fedaykin, Imperial Sardaukar и Sardaukar и они тоже отлично справятся вместе с тремя Devastator которые даются с самого начала. Первый раз, когда я проходил, я так и сделал. Юниты с максимальным званием чинят сами себя.

@@hdw Спасибо за подсказку, не задумывался о такой защите, хотя меня все равно настораживает цена такой стены, и долгожительность, каждый раз когда меня атакуют, несколько сардукаров будут умирать, когда у кобры достаточно здоровья чтобы каждой пережить или у минотавров урона чтобы не дать их атаковать, да и юниты у меня зачастую доживают до макс.уровня т.к. я могу их починить. Поэтому такой способ починки я почти исключаю у Харконненов.
