I can list out how I found you guys actually Froggy Flips -> Toy Federation -> Retro Rick -> Pheonix Resale -> Your channel :D It went from just Froggy for well over a year, he went to Toy Federation, then I got recommended Retro Rick at Toy Federation (You were there as well in the video), and then it spiraled fast into your channels! At some point around the Toy Federation I also got to Chase ATRP and I think that springboarded the algorithm.

In terms of consoles one would or would not collect for - IMHO the desire to collect the physical releases for a console is directly tied to the tactile experience itself. The comment was made in the video that platforms with games in jewel cases lacked a personality , a soul if you will - and that is spot on! Look at the venerable NES library. The variety of the art styles and personality of boxed NES games checks off every box - there are several “sub sets” with their own common style, there are hundreds of unique art styles in the library, and so many of the games have great inserts from posters, to maps, to some really unique stuff like the 3d glasses in Rad Racer, to the actual mini encyclopedia in the Carmen Sandiego game! The same could also be said for the Atari 2600 library. But from the Sega cartridge games onward, there is a distinct lack of variety and personality , and as the world moved towards physical game releases being a jewel case, a disc(s) and a small manual, the tactile experience….really lost a lot.
