This young man went through hell yet he doesn’t cease to smile. I don’t know what I would be doing if I was in his bare-feet. I know for sure that I don’t have the strength of this young man. I wish him well and I pray for his happiness.

Homelessness does not discriminate. I went from a $150K salary to find myself in his shoes. I have since got back on my feet. Enjoy life as best as you can, be kind, and help your neighbors when you are able to.

I wasnt necessarily homeless but I was in a neglecting house so I was rarely fed, didn't have anything to drink, only a floor to sleep on. One day I was drinking water out of a public bathroom sink and the worker saw me, instead of calling me names and forcing me to leave she said I could grab anything off the shelf and she would pay for it. I grabbed a big bottle of water and some food that was already prepared, when I went to the checkout she says "that's all?" With a slow nod and tears starting to fill my eyes she hands me a $20 bill and I broke out crying. In the worst part of my life a complete stranger showed me more kindness then my own parents. I guess my point is there is no words able to fit the description of how much joy I had for that $5 in water and food, to then give me even more. People like you make a bigger impact in the world then you think. Thank you ted, thank you so much. 🤧😊😊😊😊
