    But she's not gender fluid th she is only refered to as "she her" unless she specifically transformed into a male. And she dosnt correct. *only saying "easier being a girl? That's haliroius" and" I'm not a girl in a shark" becuse she felt icty and needed to shapeshift, but that dosnt make her gender floud She is a She As a female. It hurts to see all the strong female characters getting turned NB GF or trans. (People tried making Louisa from Encanto trans cuz she's big and strong) Makes it seems As if bio females can't be fun chaotic or strong And balister asking her to be "normal" is a pretty... decent request.. seeing a giant red gorilla is kinda a dead giveaway Easier for who? For balister!! he is trying to do somthing and she inserted herself into it xD

    Something really interesting I noticed that hit me hard was the fact that Gloreth is portrayed chasing off the monsters as an a d u l t. She was a child. She didn't _do_ anything, she was just following the morals of the adults around her. Had Gloreth not told Nimona to leave, the movie could've been very different. I just think it's interesting that they all talk about "Gloreth's will" and "What Gloreth wanted" but that wasn't what Gloreth wanted, it was what the village wanted. Gloreth just wanted her friend. Might be a weird thing for my brain to have focused on but I find it interesting nonetheless.

  • @MurriciTerceiro

    @MurriciTerceiro

    Gloreth followed the conditioning the village input on her; she probably grown up to become a real knight, to train others to repell monsters as she thinks she did, by "being noble" and plumetting a sword through their hearts. the power of conditioning and the incapability of those under it's influence to question it is a big message in this movie.

    I mean chances are given how low the percentage in the population is, more cis people will end up getting collateral hatred and discrimination, the bathroom bills hitting masc. cis women and such. Or the school sports ban against like 3 trans girls, chances are more cis girls will be accused of being trans by ppl intending to wield that law against them then actual trans girls who want to compete in school sports. But then again chances are a lot of the people who support and/or propose this kind of legislation likely have some less then favourable views on anyone that might be mistaken as trans or intentionally "mistaken" as trans. So the collateral might be if not intentional then welcome, in order to restore ""tradition"".

    You absolutely weren't reading too much into the metaphor they were going for with Nimona's shapeshifting. I've had my father tell me to think about how it would affect *him* if I publicly came out/transitioned like Bal in the beginning asking her to just "be normal" all the time and refuses to call me by my preferred name or pronouns regardless leading to the uncomfortable sensation of wanting to break free from my own skin like Nimona describes, and when I get to wear skirts, or I'm around people who love me for me, I feel free and alive like her shapeshifting. I absolutely love your sense of humour, your energy, your lack of fear to be yourself, and the fact that you do a lot of animation reactions, which the most criminally underlooked medium of movies/tv. All of that good stuff combined means you've earned yourself a new subscriber in me. Sincerely, Penelope-Rose (She/they)

    Hit enter a little early. You asked about the five things we would shapeshift into. For me, it would be(in no particular order): 1. The androgynous human form I view as the most accurate representation of myself. 2. A wolf(my favorite animal) 3. A bird of some kind(having trouble deciding which one) so I could fly around 4. A shark, because who doesn't want to be a shark? 5. Dragon if we're allowed something outside of normal, a snake if not.

    As a netflix, previously blue sky, movie, i did not expect this movie to tackle such a heavy topic as trans suicide, but im glad it did. its a subject that needs to be discussed more, no matter how taboo it is. her bieng in so much pain, that she is so willing to accept death is a feeling so many people, including myself, can relate to. This movie is well on its way to being the best, bust most of all, the most important movie in, at least, all of 2023. Thanks to this movie, so many important topics are now up for discussion and media portrayal, and Nimona is going to be forever remembered as a massive cornerstone in destigmatizing what millions of people go through every single day.

Ah well. Still a fantastic movie, regardless.

Its a bunch of hidden meanings built into a wonderful adventure. This movie had me laughing, crying, and at the end of the day, it spreads so much awareness about the effects that people who differ from "the standard" suffer from within society. Whether youre LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, unique, or find yourself out of place in any way, this movie is absolutely holding your hand through it all. Heres hoping for an eventual sequel. 👍 EDIT: not sure if you're aware, but the video has some sort of color filter on it. not sure if this is automatic in what you used to watch the movie, or if this was placed in your reaction to help with copyright issues. so just thought id point it out.

Most everyone in my life are a lot less emotional than I am, so to see my heart reflected in you….it’s just really really nice. That’s probably weird to say. Five things I’d shapeshift into? 1) A phoenix 2) A dragon 3) A wolf 4) This one is interchangeable. Aka I didn’t have an answer 5) Myself, the way I’m supposed to be. That answer’s a little too real. I just found you, so I don’t know if you take requests, but just in case I wanted to suggest another movie that really punched me in the heart. Its Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: the Movie Sounds silly, I know. But hear me out.
