so Batric is actually a wild bat like creature that Ed tamed. as beast keeping is his hobby! but wow, this episode broke me at first. i just know this hits different if you've had a parent figure die... Alador isn't the perfect father at the moment, but I'm glad he took the step into the right direction. and Amity shaking his hand instead of accepting the hug was a subtle but nice way of showing boundaries.

Ok, a few cool/interesting things about these episodes: A lot of fans think that the reason Luz reacted the way she did to the Abomaton’s alarm is because it reminded her of either her phone alarm or possibly a siren, and since we don’t know how her dad died that could be very triggering for her In the beginning of “Them’s the breaks, kid” we see Luz going through the diary and she discovers a few glyphs that we have seen Belos use in the past. During that scene, we also see her hide in her hoodie, which she hasn’t done in a while. It’s usually a self-soothing/comfort thing when people do that, so that’s a good indicator that even though Reaching Out is over she is still struggling After that Eda offers to give her some backstory, (which Luz has been asking for since episode 5 of season one) because she is trying to cheer her up and knows that will work really well. The nickname that young Eda called Vice Principal Bump (Vice Princy B) is nearly identical to the nickname Luz tried to call him in the episode “The First Day” (Princy B). During the scenes at the Convention Hall, we actually see a lot of kids we know as adults, including both of Willow’s dads. Not all magic is tied to specific covens, even though a lot of magic has similar colors to coven colors. The color of magic is actually based more on the person who cast it than on what kind of magic. When you asked if the kid was using illusion magic, they were actually using magic to control water, but the color of their magic was really close to the illusion magic color. As an example, Lilith’s magic was more of a lighter blue despite being in the Emperor’s Coven, which is associated with more of a golden color. Eda and Raine actually meet in the same spot that Luz and Amity first connect, and in a similar way. Eda and Amity go to that corner to try and hide that they are upset, and both Luz and Raine show up and show the other magic they discovered. When we cut back to the present, we see that Eda’s story was able to help Luz finally relax enough to rest (even though she did her best to stay awake, even drawing fanart 😂). The sigils are the little symbols on people’s wrists that bind them to a coven.

RAINE. my beloved. this episode is pretty much the last fillery episode. AND AAAA AT THE END. if you watch the coven day parade....Raine whistles in the drink there too!!! and aaa Darius is revealed to be teaming up with Raine! i was so happy to see. i knew there was more to Darius.
