“suki” means something like “i love you” in japanese. “tsuki” means “moon”. Nishimiya can’t speak really well, so Shoya misunderstood her and thought she was saying something about the moon. I’ve read before that saying something like “the moon is pretty tonight” is a poetic way of saying “i love you” in japanese.

Silent Voice was one of few series/movies that genuinely made me cry throughout the whole thing, especially from how much I related to it. I would recommend the Heaven's Feel movies from the Fate series since it's a trilogy but idk if you've watched them or the Fate series as a whole lol.

also, i noticed this after watching a few times. the jump and catch was foreshadowed a couple times. First when shoya first gave the notebook back and shoko dropped it off the bridge. she jumped off to get it and shoya tried to catch her. then before the fireworks scene when they were hanging out and shoya slipped and slid down that embankment and shoko tried to catch him. and when she walked away from the fireworks she signed something like “goodbye” as opposed to “see you later”

What I bet you didn’t know is that this is based on a true story, but when the guy fell after saving the girl he didn’t survive.
