One the best moments in my life was seeing my dad's face when he saw my sister in her dress . He has tunnel vision and as years have passed his eye sight has got worse and we always feared he would miss that moment. I only wish I had it on video but it is always in my mind x

Ummm . . . needless to say I have tears of joy running down my bearded cheeks. I am so happy for all the lucky fathers and their beautiful daughters that get to share such a precious moment in life. Unfortunately, I will never get to experience this, but it doesn't mean I haven't imagined it a million times. No wonder I cry at weddings like a blubbering fool. LOL.

I don't know why I watch these kinds of videos, considering this will never be me and my dad. Unfortunately, there are a lot (and I do mean, a lot) of consequences one inevitably experiences growing up with an abusive parent. But I guess I watch these videos because it makes me so happy to see that some men are completely capable of loving their daughters, but more importantly, loving the women that their little girls grow up to be. Thank you for filming these beautiful moments and letting people like me live vicariously through them!

I have a great pic of my dad right before he passed me to my groom. Love that pic. Love the shine in his eyes and smile on his face. And love how he took my husband in, years later, after his own father passed away. They became quite close. Dad and Mom passed away four years ago, six months apart. :(. But such happy memories; I am blessed.

I don't think the romantic type of love is special. And I am started to think that the romantic type of love isn't real. I mean about more than half of romantic couples either break up with each other or divorce each other, while most platonic best friends remain friends until death. Also, most people are pretty much comfortable enough to be naked around someone and have sex with someone that they have no romantic feelings towards. So sex isn't really a thing about romance. I think that having a platonic best friend is a lot better than having a romantic partner or spouse is. Having someone who's like a sibling to you is a lot better than having a romantic partner is. Also, you would more likely be much closer to a person who's like a brother or sister to you than you would be with a partner or spouse. People tend to fight with their partner or spouse a lot more than they do with a platonic best friend, and you never fight with your best friend the way you fight with your partner or spouse. Partners and spouses are just temporary. If you break up or divorce them, it's hard to go back to them. With your platonic best friend, you're going to make things work, because they are your best friend, they are your go to partner. It's always easier to make amends with them than it is with a romantic partner or spouse.

  • @icysnow57cold64

Also, there are a lot of toxic romantic relationships, while there isn't that many toxic platonic relationships. Like an example is that abuse happens a lot in romantic relationships, while abuse is rare in platonic relationships. So there is a lot of abusive romantic relationships, while there is isn't that many abusive platonic relationships. Why do you think abusive romantic relationships have a term for them called "domestic violence", while abusive platonic relationships don't have a term for them? It's because abuse in platonic relationships are very rare, while abuse in romantic relationships happens a lot. And also, a lot of people cheat on their romantic partners with someone else, while most people won't do stuff like that with their platonic best friends. Also, I heard that most people can live a life without romance and can still be happy. But most of the time, if someone doesn't have any platonic friends in their life, it can effect them really bad mentally; much worse than living a life without a romantic partner. In today's world, less people are dating and getting married now, and they seem to be more happy being single rather than being in romantic relationship with someone. Also, you're going to have a much deeper spoken understanding and connection with your best friend than you are with a romantic partner or spouse. So those are other reasons why romantic love isn't real or special, while platonic love is.

Hello! I wanted to respond, because your comment really stood out to me. You are right, a lot of relationships do fail today. Ending in divorce,/breakups. But we have to ask the question, why? Why is is that relationships fail...I mean the vow says "till death do us part, in sickness and in health". In order to understand true love, you need to receive it from the true source. Which is Jesus! No human can fill our voids. That's why people still feel empty inside when they pursue marriage and dating. It's not always that it's the wrong person, but people go into marriage without even understanding what love is. I don't know what you believe, but there is a God that loves you more then anyone else. He loved you so much, He gave His life for you. He died on the cross and took our sin debt in full! He wants to have a relationship with you, just surrender your life to Him today. True joy comes from Him. And until you are able to understand God's love, you will never be able to comprehend the love of another human

@@saltlightfilm9323 There are a lot more risks and dangers to romantic relationships than they are to platonic relationships. Why do you think most fathers and brothers don't act the same way towards their daughter's or sister's platonic male friends as they do towards a potential boyfriend? It's because they know there's a much higher chance someone could potentially get hurt in a romantic relationship compared to a platonic relationship. No matter what, a lot of fathers seem to hate it whenever their daughter has a boyfriend (even if he is a good guy). There are even shirts made for daughters that say "I'M NOT ALLOWED TO EVER DATE" and shirts made for fathers that say "DADS AGAINST DAUGHTERS DATING". I have also heard many fathers on the internet say that they hate the idea of their daughter having a boyfriend someday, and are completely against it. So it seems to me that most fathers don't ever want their daughters to date and be in a romantic relationship with a guy. The same thing can be said about brothers and sisters too. No matter what, a lot of brothers seem to hate it whenever their sister has a boyfriend (even if the guy is a good guy). And I have also too have heard many brothers on the internet say that they hate the idea of their sister having a boyfriend someday, and are completely against it. And so it seems to me that most brothers (like fathers) don't ever want their sisters to date and be in a romantic relationship with a guy. I don't blame them though for thinking that way since romantic love and romantic relationships can be a bad thing for someone since a broken heart can cause a person a lot of pain, and there's a lot of risks of someone getting emotionally and/or physically hurt in a romantic relationship. Platonic relationships don't have that many risks or dangers in them, and that's why most fathers and brothers don't make a big deal about their daughters or sisters having platonic male friends, but make a big deal when they have a boyfriend (or potential boyfriend). Most fathers and brothers usually like their daughter's or sister's platonic male friends, while they usually dislike their daughter's or sister's boyfriends (or potential boyfriends). So that's another reason why platonic relationships are better. So those could also be other reasons why the concept of romantic relationships isn't a good thing because of how protective fathers and brothers tend to be whenever their daughter or sister dates someone since they are afraid that the boyfriend will be a pervert that will make their daughter or sister uncomfortable (also break her heart or abuse her).

@Cecil B But it seems like most couples either break up or divorce. Domestic violence does happen in a lot of romantic relationships and marriages, and a lot of people who are in a romantic relationship or married do cheat on their partner or spouse with someone else. Bad stuff like that happens in a lot of romantic relationships and marriages. I have had bad experiences with romance before and I have seen people have much worse experiences with romance than I ever had. So romantic love and romantic relationships don't actually seem like a good thing at all. There's a lot more worse stuff that happens in romantic relationships than it does in platonic relationships. So I don't see what's so special about romance.
