Nice & thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。Can you believe that this is the grand finale performance after 14 exhausting songs ? In a recent interview, Su-Metal said this RoR definitely helps BABYMETAL connect to the crowd in any country and in any situation. That is true. The crowd involvement (mosh pit, call & response, chant etc.) breaks out wherever they go on this planet. In the uninterrupted video, Su shouted some words at 06:42 meaning "Bring them on!". Fans analyzed that the shout was thrown at people who had been ignoring, underrating, mocking, hating and even trying to discredit BABYMETAL. That shout may have been necessary in 2015 but not any longer. Now in 2021, in the grand finale of the final day (April 15) of 10 BABYMETAL Budokan shows, Su shouted the same words for the first time in several years ... smilingly. I witnessed it at the venue ... with tears.

Great reaction! Su-metal, and everyone else in that group are as professional as it gets. Su herself has been performing professionally since she was in single digit age, and knew from very early she wanted to be a singer, although I'll bet she never imagined it would be heavy metal. In fact, none of the three girls even knew what heavy metal was before Babymetal was formed out of a JPop group, and now look at them. If you'd ever like to experience the best vocal performances from Babymetal, there are two songs that the lead singer performs solo. One is a ballad she performed only one time, at her 16th birthday concert in 2013 called Akatsuki (unfinished ver.) - kzread.info/dash/bejne/oKuny9CmqLfektI.html or there is an amazing performance from her 20th birthday concert where she sings No Rain, No Rainbow. There is an official video on the Babymetal YT channel that gets blocked a lot, or you can use the video from the concert Blu-Ray that has a transparent logo over it and won't get blocked - kzread.info/dash/bejne/emiWmJKFgpexebQ.html As a vocal coach, I'd be very interested in hearing what you think when she is singing over softer music.

Su is a soprano with a range of C4 to G#5, though she manages a G#6 on a duet with Rob Halford. This was several years ago, obviously, and her voice has continued to mature. I think the most impressive feature of her voice is her strength to cut above the full-on Metal music. Try her sublime and powerful solo ballad from 2017, No Rain, No Rainbow - although best to not look up the English lyrics unless you like crying, as the words are heartbreaking: kzread.info/dash/bejne/onib09FvlsbSmbw.html . PS Legend says that Su trains to sing while dancing energetically by running on a treadmill and then jumping off to sing a verse or two. Whether that is true, Only The Fox God Knows! 🦊🤘

Good reaction - and good research on their background (that was so wordy and detailed it was just like something I would leave in comments for new reactors who showed an interest). You are absolutely right about Su's powerful vocals and how they suit and rise above or cut through the metal instrumentation. As funnytoss already said, this was the last song of an 80-90 minute concert and they had been keeping that same energy and quality up right from the first minute and through to the end. Even then they are such professionals the crowd were probably even more exhausted than they were by the end. You asked about slow songs in your 'PA PA YA' reaction. Look for 'Akatsuki' (unfinished version) on Hadesillo's channel, 'No Rain, No Rainbow, from Legend S, Baptism XX on the Babymetal Reactor Resource channel or 'The One' which you can find the official video for (it has the half and half Japanese-English version. There are live performances of the full English version) That song is dedicated to the fans, also called The One.

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🏴 🏴 🏴 "Stand up and shout, Shout!, Justice Forever!" - (Road of Resistance) - This performance was at Saitama Super Arena (SSA) on January 10th, 2015, with a sold out crowd of over 20,000. Guitarists that night were Takayoshi Ohmura and Leda Cygnus. The bassist was BOH, and the drummer Hideki Aoyama. BABYMETAL's lead singer, Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto, or just Su) first appeared at SSA in 2008 as a member of the J-Pop trio Karen Girl's, when she was 10 years old. She's been back many times since, usually headlining with BABYMETAL, although they also opened for 'Guns 'n' Roses a few years ago. She can see how good she was at controlling a crowd, even when she was 17.

Asked about his appreciation for the Japanese pop metal act BABYMETAL, Rob Zombie said: "I saw them the other day for the first time. I mean, I'd seen videos and stuff, but I saw them live for the first time the other day, and I just loved it; it was like nothing I had ever seen before. I mean, it was just like… Leave it to the Japanese to find a way to make fucking death metal cute. But it was awesome. And the crowd… The crowd was going fucking apeshit. The amount of crowdsurfing and stage diving and just complete mayhem, which made it even funnier, 'cause it's three cute little girls doing fucking karate on stage and shit, and these guys [that are backing them] are dressed like ghosts, all in white. It's the most bizarre fucking thing. It's totally worth watching; it's so good."

If you want to watch a video which showcases their awesome crowd interaction, watch "Headbanger" live at legend 1997 (the year which transitioned Su-metal from idol to metal goddess when she turned 16, and graduated from Sakura Gakuin. Maybe I'm going out on a limb here, but this performance might (just might) even be classified as legendary, thanks to all the points you mentioned that come together here. :) I think for a vocal coach the song 'No Rain No Rainbow' in its live version from the show 'Legend - S - Baptism XX -' could also be very interesting for sure, as it shows BM/Su from a completely different side. The show was held in honour of Su's 20th birthday in her hometown and was the first harbinger of the beginning of a new era, as it was the first concert without Yui and also the last one of guitarist 'Mikio Fujioka' who died a few weeks later after an accident. I'll say this much, the song fits the mood of the circumstances. 【 'Our rock never dies ever. Forever!' - Band-Maid 】🕊️

Nice reaction. Yup that is one of Babymetals most epic performances. But Babymetal didn't stop there. They went from a small band that sang with backing tracks to using East and West kami Bands. When the band started playing with them, they asked the producer if the should turn it down and hold back so they could sing over them. Kobametal told them not to. Su's voice even at that young age sang over them with no problem. And still does. Koba said she was a natural for metal. He was totally right.

@@turbozed and i respectfully disagree with that. People will hear BND,, Shine, sometimes the hashire in Karate, even Starlight, and think she has great vocal range and control. But thats eh. There's a reason why she said in recent magazine interviews Megitsune is her barometer to determine whether she can sing well in that show. Also, the same reason megitsune is positioned early in the setlist for the shows. Because she knows she struggles with it. The real reason everyone is intrigue with Su is she sings in a way that is totally different from other singers. She sings at the nasal cavity all the time. Even when she sing in low notes, shes still at the nasal cavity singing it. And akatsuki budokan encapsulates it better since akatsuki has alot of low notes. She even admitted recently on the magazine interviews that on the early days, it was akatsuki that gave her the hardest song due to the low notes.

First off, Babymetal is known for making even the most cynical and jaded metal heads chuckle. And they caused you to giggle or burst out into that hearty chortle which made your reaction genuine and quite awesome. Secondly, as many professional singers have noted, Su-metal's voice (control) is truly impressive, especially given her age (at the time). Casual reactors and listeners would often remark at the cuteness of the girls, not realizing that behind the sweet kawaii image are some of the most dedicated and epic vocals one can put on top of extremely heavy metal music. Can't wait for your next Babymetal reactions especially to the powerful Su solos..

This is Su's second hit band. The first was Karen Girl's that had a hit song "Over the Future". Moa Metal and Yui Metal used that song as an audition to get into Babymetal and even covered it onstage with Su Metal in a very cool show! Su is 100% ground up a star. The original KAMIBAND had an amazing set of musicians. The guys from DRAGONFORCE were involved in the startup and invited Babymetal onstage to play in the middle of sets with them when promoters refused to sign "Girl Groups". That part is gone and they get signed on their own. Lady Gaga, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, and Guns N' Roses, Korn and Stone Sour, Rob Halford from Judas Priest and Judas Priest have closed for them and they have a few things they have done with other bands like Kingslayer ... Perfume, One OK Rock, and Babymetal are all cut from the same design and they are all great in their own field. Mikiko is the Choreographer for a few of the groups and also the last Olympics in South America for the Japanese introduction has a group of dancers called Elevenplay ... Big fun and they are all a great. These groups are bringing more people back to rock. All us ancient folks will be around to watch or play this stuff forever.. Bring youth on ... Any language .. Hard and fast ..

@@HellenKillerProject hey. Well you don't have to convince Me, I absolutely love Babymetal. And yes, I know Babymetal joined Dragonforce on stage at download 2015. But not completely because they weren't allowed to play. They were offered a slot at a smaller stage, but it was offered so late, they wouldn't have time to summon the Kamis so to speak. And so they played two songs with Dragonforce. Which was amazing since they only had the same day to practice, and Dragonforce wasn't used to have dancing singers with a choreography. So you are preaching to the choir. Babymetal are the best. My original comment was simply clarifying that they recorded all the guitars for Road Of Resistance for the album, not write it 🤘🏻🦊🤘🏻

I think 🤔 Su Metal has really become a very professional world class singer , she really impressing me with range of vocals and try new songs , Shanti , Shanti , and Kangou are her lastest songs . Good review 👍 I can't wait for them to start turing again. One thing about what I like about baby metal , all there songs high energy but different , no song is the same.

Great reaction. Love to hear you do a more recent song, like the Kawaii Metal mashup with Bollywood: BABYMETAL's Shanti, Shanti, Shanti Official Video.

Yes these girls, sorry ladies are very talented. Allow the music and visuals to hit you all at once without interruption. It will give a better experience and understanding of what is actually happening. Plus remember, some of your viewers are watching it for the first time as well. Some of them have expressed this in the comments. Frankly, I love Baby Metal, but dislike the constant interruptions as the energy is building to something awesome.

babymetal is pure awesomesauce. You should give Band Maid a try for an all girl japanese band who can actually play their instruments (very very well). You could start with Domination Live

I hope you can also try out the all female Japanese rock band, Band-Maid. They just came out with a new video for the song No God. Their live videos are fantastic but the MV are good too. I recommend Domination, Play, Freedom. They are a very positive band too.
