One of the most beautiful tunes ever created for Jazz.
Thanks Emmit. For me it's been a crap 12 months and your videos are a ray of light.
So smooth! With "Prince", I mean Wayne on flugelhorn. Had me doing a double-take. Wow. Just amazing music. Thanks Emmet for these weekly gems!!!

Right…! Saw Prince in the thumbnail and here I am…!
I really like this horn player’s playing. Emmett always has killer musicians on. Love it.
Have been waiting for this cutout so I can loop it - Such a beautiful rendition and Wayne's flugelhorn gorgeously smooth 🥰

Please, play with Andrew Gould.
Great tune, great playing. But surely Wayne is playing flugelhorn, not trumpet!
a little quick imo but a nice interpretation. I think you could pull it off even better and go deeper with it. I replayed this at 75% and 50% and it became something new. there's a little more of that familliar draw on the notes. Bill Evans arguably wrote the most beautiful jazz instrumental in history. it's a tough one to tackle. give it a listen at 75%. the drums take on a new dimension in a slower brushed shuffle. the piano is more pronounced, the bass timing is driving and giving that before the note is plucked tension. the trumpet sounds better too. the transition notes in this tune sound better at a slower tempo on trumpet. it's also easier to perhaps hear how the trumpet could ease into the passing tones. the articulation is fine of course. it's hard not to think of how miles smoothly runs notes on this tune. overall i liked it. and Really dug it at 75% speed.
treat this tune with more sincerity.
OK it's nice but the original arrangement is so emotional and evocative it can easily bring tears to the eye. The bits of brightness and frivolity here disrupt the intention and primary value of the piece.

You're smelling all the smooth jazz inflections that are put in this arrangement 😂

They’ve slaughtered the actuality of the expression of the piece. Frauds.
Not to be that guy (I’m being that guy) but I almost heard the lick at 0:51

Do you mean that the piano was too loud in that moment (in a live performance in a living room)?

This is not Blue in Green at all.
No! What "Coda"! So boring.
Nothing works here... it's like smooth funky jazz and it has nothing to do with Blue in Green. Don't like it
