We are proud to announce the release of Emmet Cahill’s first solo CD - “Emmet Cahill’s Ireland”. Covering 11 Irish classic songs that are known throughout the world. This is a must have CD for lovers of Irish music and song.
Over the last number of years, Emmet’s life has been transformed from a young man pursuing a career in classical music to being plunged into the world of touring across cities and performing to thousands of fans with Celtic Thunder. After phenomenal success, including three albums shooting to number 1 on the world billboard charts.
Growing up in a musical household, pursuing a career in music was always a natural path for Emmet to take. From the tender age of four, his father began to provide music lessons, leading to a 5 year ‘Schola Cantorum’ music scholarship at his local secondary school. After attending formal classical training at the prestigious Royal Irish Academy of Music, Emmet soon found himself touring the world, from the United States, to Canada, to Australia as a lead singer with the Irish music group, and relishing every moment of it.
Emmet’s talents have been recognized both home and abroad. He has enjoyed success as a multiple prize winner in various competitions across Ireland, the RIAM ‘Promising young singer of 2010’, the ‘John McCormack Young Tenor Award’, as well as being voted ‘Tenor of the year’ in 2013 by The Irish Music Association in the United States in recognition of his performances on stage. He also performed in stage productions at The National Concert Hall as well as The Gaiety Theatre, Dublin.
David Munro, The Celtic Thunder Musical Director had the following to say on Emmet. "As a Scotsman I think I'm well placed to be an observer of a phenomenon that seems to be as consistent as it is inexplicable.
That phenomenon is where a single Irishman seems to charm the listening public of America with his singing voice. It is obvious that Frank Patterson, Josef Locke and John McCormack achieved great fame but it has always fascinated me as to what the special quality was that elevated them above the rest.
Apart from possessing a naturally beautiful voice, all these men had that ubiquitous "X factor". I firmly believe that this virtue is honesty. In a world where people struggle to find things that they can trust, I find great comfort in a singing voice that exudes honesty.
When I first heard Emmet Cahill sing some years ago, I was struck by this very quality. As we've continued to work together over the years I am further convinced that Emmet is perfectly placed to be the next Irishman in this prestigious lineage".

Our family came from County Waterford early 1800,s before the potato famine.
So very wonderfully Irish and perfectly emotionally Irish. Emmett you do it with knowledge and Irish lilt masterfully

OMG this song and how wonderfully you sang it!!!! My Irish grandmother loved this song so very much and my Dad would sing it for her often.Your video made 60 years just melt away and I was a little girl in my parents home . Your dimples , the wink, your smile -- reminded me so much of my Irish father. Thank you for this so very well sung classic old song.

Emmett has the most beautiful voice and Irish eyes was my dad's song for my mother and she is 93 today.

My dad was Polish (100%), but he always had a great love for Irish music. I learned most of the songs on this album at an early age, and he and I used to sing them together as I grew up. I've been sitting here listening to my the music and hearing my dad "doing" a pretty good Irish brogue, for the last hour--great memories. Also, my mom was a violinist, and she would play the same tunes, and she and my dad would dance to them together, as well. Don't know why I didn't see this until a year after it was published on KZread. At any rate...thanks, Emmet. :-)
