Oh my goodness. That was awesome. I am a trumpet player and I can tell you the most difficult part of this song is the end with the duet with the violin. Magnificent. Truly beautiful.

Years ago I was playing this song in my home office and suddenly an Iraqi woman who had rented a room in the same house burst in and emphatically says, "What is that song?! That is the most beautiful song I've ever heard!" I would agree - timeless and cultureless.

This song is arresting. It's a love song. Two people, masters of their mode of expression, sing their quiet, powerful aching love for each other. The softer more delicate vibrations of the strings are feminine, the strong brassy tones of the trumpet are masculine. Between the two of them they construct point and counterpoint in the melody, blending their individuality into a poignant harmony. Who can get enough of a love like this?

This is exquisite. How do you not just get lost in the music while performing this? I'd miss my cue every time. Gorgeous, gorgeous work. Timeless performance and arrangement. My heart could explode.

The first time I heard it I was spellbound it took me to a beautiful place…that violinist served it up…closed my eyes and off I wen. I learned in elementary school that all “Music” tells a story…what an awesome love…❤❤
